Rush out for revenge Friday
It's obvious Kareem Rush wants revenge. It will be interesting to see whether he gets any Friday.
Rush's departure from the Bobcats was pretty ugly. He was cut weeks before the end of the 2005-06 season, and then coach-general manager Bernie Bickerstaff didn't hide the fact that Rush was fired over professionalism issues. The team suspected Rush was dogging it, sitting out games with minor injuries and complaining about playing time.
The Bobcats had a great sense of teamwork at the time, and Bickerstaff was sending the message that nothing would jeopardize that.
A hissing match ensued when Rush's former coach, Phil Jackson of the Lakers, ripped Bickerstaff for ripping Rush. Bickerstaff bit back, saying Jackson had no business criticizing him, after Jackson wrote a tell-all memoir about his first stint with the Lakers.
Rush was embarrassed by Bickerstaff's public knock, and has indicated to various media outlets that he feels Bickerstaff's negative review hurt his chances of making another NBA roster.
This fall, after playing overseas last season, Rush earned a spot with the Pacers. He's dropped plenty of hints he's looking to punish the Bobcats for Bickerstaff's slight.
Of course, to punish the Bobcats, Rush has to actually play. He logged all of three minutes -- and took no shots -- in the Pacers' Wednesday loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Wow Bonnell!!! You really had no idea what to write about, and you could only come up with that. From so many players in this league, you care about K.Rush aka Nobody. Bernie cutted him out and he end up playing in a foreign league, that means probaly Bernie was right.
If he were 1/4 of the kind of player he thinks he is, he would have found a team to play with last season. Examples of that are players like: Artest, Rasheed, Stephen Jackson among others. How about Rodman and Sprewell, remember them? All of those are/were problematic guys, but they always managed to play, and be starters. Rush should be happy if he even gets to play, and that probaly won't happen unless the Bobcats get blownout again, which I doubt.

LOL! This article is so useless. It would be nice to read how the Bobcats hope to rebound from losing two straight. You just wasted four paragraphs on a person who doesnt even start and plays less than 10mins a game. He avgs 5ppg and you think he's gonna get revenge. He should be happy he's still playing in the league. What revenge can he get if he's nt on the floor. This isnt KG playing against Min, it's Kareem no name Rush playing against the local team aka Bobcats. This doesnt deserve a full ariticle! LOL!
Another example of Bonnell wasting our time writing useless articles.

Yeah, what a terrible story. Why would you report on a player who left under acrimonious circumstances, claimed he was blackballed by our current executive vice president, and played his way from LITHUANIA back to the Association. How dare you, Bonnell??? You should not only be fired, but you sould also be brought to the back yard, beaten, and shot.

I liked the story.

Bernie should have spent more time keeping his drunk son of the roads.

Furthermore, the fact that this story doesn't deserve a full story is PRECISELY WHY it's on this blog. Stupid ass.

Michael, ur point doesnt make any sense! Why are you name calling! Okay if you wanna be a smartass. This is a worthless blog!

Rush is not a local Michael! I can understand the article if it was a local guy, but he's from the mid west. Why does his story of returning to the NBA intrigue anyone from Charlotte.

Because, say, he was a member of the team for a year and a half? Or because he was the third-leading scorer in the franchise's first year of existence? Or because we used a potentially valuable 2nd-round pick to trade for him? Or because of all the conditions I already mentioned? It's not like this is just some guy (i.e. Jake Voskuhl/Jason Kapono) coming back to play after not getting re-signed as a free agent. This is a case where a player was cut from a team and actually called out for his lack of work ethic and nightly effort...if you don't know how rarely that happens, look to the fact that it essentially led to a one-year banishment from the league for the guy. This is not an every-day occurrence, and even if he doesn't play a single minute, coming back to the town--and the person, Bernie Bickerstaff--that could have ruined or even ENDED his NBA career is a storyline ripe with intrigue, unless your small mind is incapable of handling that kind of higher-level thought.

I thought a better topic was from the other team the other night that we didn't look ready to play with them. If the Bobcats aren't ready to play in the 4th game of the season, we have a very long season coming up.
Richardson cannot carry the team by shooting 2-15. I thought he was the all-star? Right now, if Richardson and Wallace are lighting it up, they win. If these guys falter, we're toast. Okafor is not a consistent scorer inside and he probably has started having back spasms already. Primo is off and on - hurt as expected. The wild card is Hermann. Walter works hard, keeps his mouth shut and can light it up. If I were Vincent...I'd pile on the minutes for Hermann to get him in the rhythm of scoring 14-20 a night....he can do it with ease. Fabio can be a star and crowd favorite in this league. If Hermann can take the attention off Richardson, Wallace and Carroll, we would have a much better chance. But, oh, I forgot, who's going to get the rock to Hermann?

Gerald Wallace still has my vote for most exciting professional basketball player to every suit up for a Charlotte team. I loved to watch Larry, Zo, Mash, Rice, Eddie, Muggs...all those guys. But, Wallace is the real deal. I just wish the Bobcats had a cool veteran like David Wesley dishing out the passes to these guys.

Has anybody seen his Airness, the Bobcats Ghost?
$265 Mil for the Arena
$300 to bring the Bobcats to Charlotte
Two major players hurt for the season. Two consecutive blowout losses by 30+ points.
No Michael.
No Attendance.
No Press Conference.
No "I like this team, but..."
No, "I know J-Rich can do better than 2-15..."
The guys owns a piece of the team, but avoids it? Hates the fans? Hates the sponsors? Is he going to waltz in halfway thorugh the season and give us some heavenly observations and hire a couple of more people then go back to Chicago?
We are all dumb country folks anyway and I know he can't be bothered with our little town and our little NBA team. Hell, he may have already given up on the team this season...because you know the most important thing is that his son is playing for THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS!!!! I understand Matt Lauer has just interviewed him and his son for the Today Show...now, that's something to concentrate on....forget the Bobcats.

Micheal, we just have to disagree on this issue. If he wrote some articles/bogs about the Bobcats and he wrote this, then I can understand. We didnt have any articles about the Bobcats trying to rebound from two losses! Trying to play without Felton! I think Jordan not being at the Bobcats game is big! This is supplement news to Bobcats Fans! Who cares about Kareem if we lost two straight and Felton is hurt! Thats bigger news IMO!

""Indianapolis Star -
Indiana swingman Marquis Daniels will miss tonight's game against the Charlotte Bobcats with a left knee injury.
Shawne Williams and Kareem Rush will likely pick up Daniels' minutes.""
Eeeek!

Just saw a shot of Jordan at the end of the game.
Guess he's in attendance.
Just wanted to let you all know, since some of you are so interested in where our owners are.

Rush gets his revenge by scoring 0 points in 12 mins of action.
LOL!
HAHAHAHA! Bonnell your coverage sucks!
This only proves my point that Rush was not worthy of any article/blog.
Bobcats rally to beat the Pacers behind Emeka's 25 points and 23 rebounds night. Gerald was instrumental in the 4th qtr comeback with 10 points in the 4th. I thought we were gonna lose, but the guys kept fighting. Richardson didnt play well, but Matt pick up the slack with 12 points off the bench. Ray is finally starting to develop some consistency with his outside shot. Jordan finally showed up! Great game for the Bobcats.
The next game is the Rockets and that's gonna be tough!

Maybe we could get Michael to come back out of retirement one more time. Let's see if he plays for the Bobcats that will be every team in the NBA he has suited up for right?
This entire organization from Big Black Bob all the way down to the ignorant tax payers are a joke.
Posted by: jason | Nov 9, 2007 10:37:31 PM
The only joke around here is that you and the other racist redneck bumpkins waste so much of your life worrying about what's going on with this organization.
If I apologized for Johnson being black and 10000x richer than you'll ever be, will that make it all better? Or will you still be jealous and bitter?
Posted by: Will | Nov 9, 2007 10:45:30 PM
Jason,
no comment!
Don't wanna feed what already seems to be a bitter individual

What a worthless blog Bonnell. Who cares if some no talent chump wants revenge, he really got it with zero points and a loss.
Will you can eat a d ick. All you ever do is call people racist then turn around and talk about rednecks. You ignorant hypocrite. Probably never even been to a bobcats game. Idiot.
Posted by: Will's dad | Nov 10, 2007 12:54:21 PM
What can I say, I would eat your d*ck but you probably don't have one you dumb redneck. Or its probably too small for me, little redneck bumpkin.
Posted by: Will | Nov 10, 2007 1:09:50 PM
that's disgusting will.
Posted by: TR | Nov 10, 2007 1:50:36 PM
where is that idiot michael procton to tell me how good brezec is? mr. 'i only report the stats'. douche bag. your boy had 2 points 2 rebounds and 3 turnovers. yeah that's really good. your opinion and STATS are worthless.
Posted by: mg | Nov 10, 2007 2:09:53 PM
As much as I dislike Bonnell, this was not a bad article. Rush doing terrible doesn't take away from the blog post, but I think makes it more humorous.
On another note, I'm really tired of people talking about the race thing. We had 5 white players last year and I can't even think of another team that had more (There's bound to be one though). I just don't see how anyone can think this organization is racist.
