Veterans day in Los Angeles
Interesting, the extent to which Bobcats coach Sam Vincent relied on his veterans to beat the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.
Check out the minutes played: Derek Anderson played as much as Matt Carroll. Jeff McInnis, who like Anderson is in his 11th NBA season, played the second-most minutes on the team (41). Othella Harrington, in his 12th season, played for the first time in 23 games (perhaps to test what his sore left knee could withstand.)
That meant limiting minutes for Carroll and second-year pro Ryan Hollins and not playing rookie Jared Dudley.
It worked – the Bobcats shot 57 percent and won their fourth road game. Is this a one-game situation or the beginning of a trend? Vincent hasn’t been one to lock himself into any one rotation.

This topic shouldn't be a discussion! We won the game and we are 1 game behind the Nets for 8th in the conference. Our team has been playing the best basketball out of all the teams trying to get the last two playoff spots. We have a chance to make the playoffs this year!

I hope that DA logging more minutes is a trend. There's no chance Jeff won't get his minutes with Vincent at the helm, so that's a moot point. As for Othella? Just retire already. Please. No reason he should be getting JD's minutes. NONE!

Even though I didn't get a chance to see the game I would like to think that Vincent played DA & OH as a strategy for keeping his rotational players fresh for the rest of the West Coast swing. If I could notice that the Clippers' 2 best players were unable to play the Vincent probably knew that fact as well. I have been very critical of Vincent since very early in the season and rightfully so. However, he didn't hire himself, MJ did, and he does seem to be doing some learning. I quess that's want throwing away 5 or so wins does for an inexperienced coach.

As long as they keep the PIRAHNA wins coming, no problem!
Also one other note, Okafor might not be an offensive juggernaut but his D is big time.
That block against Tim Thomas was raw!

Having seen Felton hit some big threes to aid runs in the last couple of games, I'd love to see consistent success around 35% behind the arc for him. He's so often left wide open when Wallace or Richardson drive and kick, knowing that he could hit these would make our offense MUCH better. He doesn't need to be a 45% shooter from behind the arc, but there is NO WAY he should be worse behind the line than Gerald Wallace.
