Stray thoughts following three wins in a row ...
--- They’re overcoming some really bad first-quarter defense to put together this little run: Over the past four games (when they committed to the rotation with Raymond Felton entirely at the point and Matt Carroll mixed in as a starter), the Bobcats have allowed opponents to shoot 61. percent from the field.
--- Emeka Okafor had one strange shooting night: 3-of-13 from the field and 10-of-18 from the foul line. The Warriors fouled him constantly in the second half, trying to give up two free throws in lieu of a dunk.
--- When asked why he played Jason Richardson all 48 minutes Wednesday, coach Sam Vincent said he’s listening to his players more. Good. A little more collaboration is certainly warranted.
--- Rookie Jared Dudley should have been playing more early this season. It’s no fluke he had 18 rebounds versus the Warriors. The guy has a nose for the ball and is bright enough to focus on whatever his team needs. This team needs extra possessions and Dudley finds them.

Rick,
Your first point is the point I made a while back as to why I did not think we played what was obviously our best offensive lineup (Felton, Carroll, Richardson, Wallace, Okafor/Nazr) as a primary lineup. While folks thought McInnis was playing to help run the offense, I felt he was playing as much as he did for DEFENSIVE purposes.
As it stands, I hope we can find a way to make the defense improve with this unit, as it has been too long waiting to see us have 2 legitimate shooters on the wings to spread the floor and knock down shots on kickouts. The floor is even more balanced when Jared plays with his shooting ability.
BTW, I LOVE Dudley's game and impact. If he had one more inch and little more bulk, he would fill the void left from May's injured spot perfectly (and probably gotten picked before he fell to us). He's doing a helluva job as is, especially as he has deeper range on his jumper, which I love when he steps into confidently.
Part of why I thought he was brought in when we drafted him was as insurance for if May could not come back. He does a good job of giving us that versatile power forward who can shoot face up that most successful NBA teams now have while mixing it up well on the boards and playing very INTELLIGENTLY. You need a PF who can defend guys who can move while being able to step out and unclog the lane in today's NBA. Jared is doing a good job for us there when he is not playing the 3.

McInnis is gone and we win 3 of 4 games. Coincidence? I think not.

Anybody heard any truth to the rumors that the Bobcats are filing suit against season ticket holders who are trying to back out on their extended contracts early?

Now Q, you'll only get Procton mad if you talk bad about his boy McInnis.

Neese...am a 4th year Club Seat owner with PSL's for my seats. Have not heard this rumor and seriously doubt its validity. Economic hard times are effecting Charlotte like a number of other business communities througout the country. That said, the Bobcats would want to avoid any negative press in the midst of a losing season especially with a lower quadrant NBA attendance level. Further, the pressure that the Team's lenders could bring to bear resulting from the likely fall out from the perception of "strong arming" the ticket holder during hard times could materially effect the teams long term ability to cover the cash obligations on its debt structures.
So, while it MIGHT be possible, I believe the Bobcats would clearly work with those fans whose obligations under the agreement may not be as easily fulfilled as they were at the time of contract inception. Despite the on-again off-again season, Bob Johnson is a very smart business man who realizes that a tactic as you propose might work in the short term but would echo a death knell for the long term. I dont subscribe to your rumor.

I am a season ticket holder and I found out yesterday they are raising my ticket prices 34 percent. Gotta say after such a lackluster year I was shocked. I am not sure what their reasoning is, but I am not interested in my tickets at a 34 percent increase.

It is always interesting to see people who look at drafts with great hind site. It is easy to say someone is good after they have been in the league and proven that they are good. Okay, now it a great time for you guys to be able to tell Jordan and all, "I told you so". You can do this by listing the top 10 players in priority order that we should draft if they are available when we pick. It's pretty obvious that some of us know talent better than Jordan so lets tell him what we think then that will qualify us to say, "I told you so...my judgement is better than yours".
Whatcha think Procton? Now is the time for the experts to show their knowledge rather than wait, see how the players perform, then
talk about what we should have done. Say what should be done now. This certainly will make people listen when you talk.

TakeaDare, i doubt if you will get anyone on this list to take a gamble on making a top ten draft list. They know that they could not do better than Jordan and would probably even leave Hansborough off the list if he is available. Of course, they don't mind making judgements "after" the fact. An eighth grader could do that. :)

I will give you my Top 10 draft list.
Not because I am a told-you-so person... but because this is a fun challenge.
With our current record and 4.3% chance of getting top pick, that puts Cats around pick 7.
Figure Beasley, Rose, Gordon, Bayless, and DeAndre Jordan are gone.
Assuming needs: size (PF/C), PG, scorers
Top 10 (remaining):
1. Brook Lopez C
2. Anthony Randolph PF/C
3. Blake Griffin PF
4. OJ Mayo PG/SG
5. Chase Budinger SG/SF
6. DJ Augustin PG
7. Danilo Gallinari SF
8. Roy Hibbert C
9. Ty Lawson PG
10. Kevin Love PF

Gene, I can only asume that you are a Flight Plan season ticket holder, as this is the only section I am aware of with such a dramatic increase. What may not have been explained to you, is that your seats will all be in the lower bowl, rather than 31 down and 12 up. I defy you to find ANY team in the league that offers lower bowl seats for $35 a game. When the Cats do make the playoffs- and they will, this price will be all that much sweeter! Go Cats!

"It's pretty obvious that some of us
know talent better than Jordan so let's tell him what we think". Really?! Is that so, Mr. Smartypants?! And on he goes: " that will qualify us to say "I told you so...!". Again, really!?! I thought people post their comments in order to exchange ideas with other fans, and maybe, to make some suggestions that might be useful to our team - but not with the purpose of getting "bragging rights".
What a pity they don't give a prize for the most stupid, arrogant and, quite frankly, ridiculous, post; you'd easily win it, TakeaDare! By the way, since YOU love so much both bragging and daring, why don't YOU sign your name ?!

Time for the daily Sean "Oops!..I ate it again" May post. Any of you notice at the game last night ole Sean "shuffled" out to the court with the Team during a time out? Almost took my breath away. Why you say? Well, 1. It shows signs that there actually is circulation going to the lower extremities ( no need to comment on social life as the inference is already there) And to the poster the other day who criticized me for not noticing the "Sean rides a bike" video. To that I say...Shame on me! ;2. And the "shuffle" was in a direction OPPOSITE of thre BackCourt Lounge. However I did notice a half eaten Bojangles Tenders Box in the direction he was headed. And finally 3. Only problem was ole "titanic" May looked like he had trouble stopping. Kinda like the ship and the iceburg thing.
So maybe there is hope......NAH!

You fools will pay more for your tickets and you will like it. In fact if you don't pay me more money next year and renew your tickets I will sue yall asses.

Sandy, you are either blind or stupid. There are good fans here; however, most show up to critcize Jordan, Bonnell, Johnson, May, Felton and occasionally a few others including Vincent. Only the criticism of Vincent seems unbiased. If you are so interested in making suggestions to the team then you are an idiot to think that suggesting a draft order, to those that many of you call clueless, does not constitute a positive suggestion. Sure, you would much rather waste your tiny little mind bragging about the ignorance of ownership, management and the press rather that putting forth something concrete that would justify your bragging in the future. Your remarks are small minded and silly. If we all did like mcap, then we would have a basis for some fan input. If you can't offer suggestions before the fact, you should consider keeping you mouth closed after time has had an opportunity to judge a draft decision. As far as signing a name, what does it matter? Are you into identity theft??

Totally, right, buddy...many have had their identities stolen by their published name. I heard they were thinking about discontinuing the phone book.
