Celtics' Big Three not expected to play
The thousands who bought tickets for Bobcats-Celtics months ago won't exactly get what they paid for tonight. Word from Marc Spears of the Boston Globe is the Celtics don't plan to play any of the big three - Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce or Ray Allen -- tonight. The Celtics haven't technically clinched home-court advantage yet, but they have to win just one of their remaining seven games to do so. That means Celtics coach Doc Rivers is prioritizing resting his stars in anticipation of the playoffs.

So I went on the internet to see the Bobcats pathetic box score from last night, and I see this:
G.Wallace Did Not Dress - Left Groin Soreness
Is it safe to say yet that Gerald Wallace is overpaid and a huge, injured BUST???? If its not one thing its another with this ass clown. He's not reliable at all. Sure he may score a lot of points, but he's one of the league leaders in turnovers and therefore gives the other team a lot of points back. And he's always f'ing hurt!!
I can't wait to see those 2 douche bags that always post on here blame Felton for Wallace sucking ass. Felton sucks too, but that's another story.
Players like Gerald Wallace that can run and jump real high are a dime a dozen. If you get this guy outside of the post he is worthless. He has the ugliest jump shot I've ever seen and never hits it. Big mistake giving this guy that huge contract.

Yeah...Gerald Wallace is "worthless" outside the post. That's why he's our 2nd-best three-point shooting starter (ahead of the VAUNTED Raymond Felton) and has hit the third-highest number on the team. If you can find another player with the ability to get 2+ blocks and steals per game while scoring 20+, I'd love to have him, Timbo.

Oh boy. Here we go. I like Wallace but I don't think he is a good fit for this team. Nobody's fault, just poor chemistry. If we played Nellie ball we might make it work but Vincent can't coach a horny bull onto a cow.

Wow, I sure am glad I did not go to the game. Wait I have never been to a racist boobcat game and never will until BJ and MJ leave forever and sell the team to someone that knows their ass from a hole in the ground.

Wallace is not worth the money He is Dan Morgan of the bobcats always hurt Get your facts straight Michael

If only we had McInnis back. (Heavy dose of sarcasm)

Are y'all crazy? Wallace is a terrific player and we're darn lucky to have him.
Posted by: jiff65 | Apr 6, 2008 9:23:41 PM
We're not crazy, a blind man can see the chemistry issues of Wallace on the team. He is a good player though.

I don't think its a coincidence the longest win streak in team history occurred when dan morgan i mean Gerald Wallace was yet again, hurt.
(here is where michael procton replies 'but those wins were against crappy teams, boo hoo hoo')
A win is a win, and they don't get nearly enough with overpaid Wallace in the lineup. He most definitely affects team chemistry, and Richardson plays so much better with Wallace out of the lineup.
Posted by: Timbo | Apr 7, 2008 7:05:58 AM
And that win streak conveniently ended the second Wallace stepped back on the court, go figure.
Posted by: Timbo | Apr 7, 2008 7:07:29 AM
Oh, I think it was a coincidence.
Toronto (minus Bosh)
Minnesota.
Golden State (revenge game for Richardson).
Atlanta.
Washington (without 2 of it's 3 best players)
That's not exactly a difficult schedule.
And, yeah, it is a coincidence that we lost when he came back, seeing as how when he came back, it was the first game of a west coast trip that began with Dallas and Houston.
If we were actually so gooooood without Wallace, we might have one more than one game in February, a month in which Wallace missed all but four games.

I meant to say, "we might have WON more than one game in February." That's what I get for posting right after I wake up.

The two guys I expected to chime in and defend Wallace have now done so. Are you guys the same person? Will is Michael, Michael is Will? Like Finkle and Einhorn in Ace Ventura? Give me a break and go back to Felton bashing. Wallace is good but overrated and he hasn't earned the big new contract he signed before this season. At least we can all agree on that.

What are you TALKING about, Timbo? Please name me a better player being paid a lower salary than Gerald Wallace ($7.5 mil) who's not in a rookie contract. Now, I'm sorry we can't accuse you of doubling yourself given that nobody agrees with you, but the idea of Gerald as an overpaid player who is among the league leaders in scoring, steals, and fouls drawn is RIDICULOUS.
Posted by: Michael Procton | Apr 7, 2008 8:42:08 PM
Hilarious that you qualify your argument by saying not a rookie contract. Thanks for admitting there are countless rookies and second/third year players that are much better than Wallace. And thanks for telling me they don't count so I didnt have to waste time listing them.
Also, putting WORDS in CAPS doesn't make your POINT any more VALID, you IDIOT. Its annoying, like your elementary opinions.
Do me a favor, let me know how many points, steals, and fouls drawn (thats my favorite) dan morgan i mean gerald wallace and his sore nuts have at the end of the bench with sean may tomorrow night. Thanks.
Posted by: Timbo | Apr 8, 2008 1:05:32 AM
Oh, is that so? Please, again...tell me who is better? Wait...you won't because you're lazy and you're wrong. Good effort, though.

Sorry for the delay Proton, unlike you I have to work a job all day and can't live off my mom in the basement.
All these players make less than Wallace, in some cases a great deal less, and contribute to their team just as much or a whole lot more. And all are definitely more reliable (except maybe Martin) and don't sit out games because they are a sore little bitch like G-Hurt. I would like any of these guys on the Bobcats over Wallace:
Brandon Roy
Kevin Martin
Al Thornton
Monta Ellis
Deron Williams
Chris Paul
Kevin Durant
Al Horford
Andre Ingodula
Ben Gordon
Stephen Jackson
Danny Granger
Rudy Gay
hell, even Emeka Okafor!!
Now, shut the hell up and quit bothering me. Don't reply, I'll let you off the hook and won't make you admit you are wrong. Its an established fact in these blogs that you are an idiot and I feel bad for you.

I'd still like you to find those ten veterans who are paid less than Wallace and can provide all that he does:
Brandon Roy: rookie contract
Kevin Martin: does nothing better than Wallace aside from scoring (including playmaking), has played fewer games than Wallace this season, and recently signed a contract extension at 5-55, which appears to me to be far more expensive than the one given to Wallace.
Al Thornton: rookie contract, does NOTHING better than Wallace...doesn't even START!
Monta Ellis: rookie contract
Deron Williams: rookie contract
Chris Paul: rookie contract
Kevin Durant: rookie contract, inferior stats to Wallace despite being the only decent player on his team
Al Horford: rookie contract, nowhere CLOSE to the scorer, defender, or playmaker that Wallace is
Andre Iguodala: rookie contract, turned down 5-60+ contract offer
Ben Gordon: rookie contract, lower PPG and APG despite being a scoring SG
Stephen Jackson: though a better shooter, a far less dynamic player in terms of both rebounding and defending
Danny Granger: rookie contract, fewer PPG and APG
Rudy Gay: rookie contract
