Larry Brown posts his resume

0404larrybrown         In case you didn't notice -- and I assume Bobcats management already has -- Larry Brown is casting about for a job.

"I've got to figure out if I can get a coaching job," Brown told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I want to get back so bad. I'm bored."

I'm not surprised Brown feels this way. I'm surprised -- but just marginally -- that he'd broadcast how much he wants back after nearly two years away from the sidelines.

Brown isn't worried about money -- he has more than he, his wife, his kids or his grandchildren will ever spend. He is worried about his legacy. He really doesn't want what happened with the Knicks to serve as his last act.

If the Bobcats end up replacing Sam Vincent, Brown would certainly put a surge through this franchise. He might be high-maintenance at times, but Brown is a proven winner. And marketing-wise, he'd get the public talking about a franchise that is currently an after-thought to much of Charlotte.

Brown wouldn't work cheap, but I bet he's less expensive now than he might have been, say, five years ago.

HAHA!!! Yessss! Please let it come true, please! The only reason he failed in New York was because of some buffoon named James Dolan. Wait a second, there is a guy kinda like that here in Charlotte. Bob Johnson? Oh, who cares, anything is an improvement on Sam "how on earth did I become a head coach" Vincent. Bob said he was going to open up his wallet for this organization, and I guess he did for the roster. It's time for him to do the same with the head coach. That last coaching search was a sham and everyone knows that.

PLEASE. I saw a Fire Sam sign at the arena the other day. I hope they do it. Lets get some more signs going.

Fire Sam! Fire Sam! Fire Sam! Fire Sam! Fire Sam! Fire Sam!

Larry's problems in the past have been due to his huge ego clashing with team FO. I don't think that will be as big a factor here given that: 1. Bob Johnson and Michael Jordan are never here. 2. He actually has some respect for MJ. The big question is does MJ have the cajones to fire Sam and will Bob put up the bucks.

Larry Brown is a proven great coach, but ... it's not just that he failed with the Knicks, it's the way he failed. I think that the responsibility for the Knicks' debacle in the '05-'06 season is shared by Isiah as the GM whose many random players personnel moves created sort of a grab-bag, or motley crew, but not a basketball team capable of functioning together, by some of the players Isiah brought in and their lack of discipline, and also by Larry Brown. Regardless of the hard time some players give you, you - as a professional coach - still shouldn't criticize and humiliate them publicly; however, this is what Larry Brown was doing. Also, there were those ever-changing line ups, until nobody (except for Marbury) knew who is and who isn't a starter, or how many minutes any player can expect to get. Larry Brown was indeed thrown into a difficult situation, but he also didn't handle it well. I don't think he'd be a good fit for the Bobcats, and I'd much rather see Paul Silas coaching this team. The players here are much more disciplined than some of Isiah's guys, but still, this team has its own problems, and Paul Silas, for one thing, seems to be a lot more patient than Larry Brown. I would also like Avery Johnson, if he becomes available for next season.

Please, God no, no Larry Brown, Silas, Fratello, Carlisle, anybody but Larry Brown.

I see y'all talkin' 'bout Mr Michael here and again. This here is Seans momma now. I known Mr Michael since they didnt make them Hanes small enough to cover his cajones. Lordy sakes!. Now I'm gunna tell ya straight. Mr Michael, he really deep down a fine young man. He done all them nice commerfcials with McDonalds and all. He even do himself a Walt Disney movie. Get all them kids attention. Showin' what its like to be a good person and all.

Now, Mr Micael, he be running a basketball team. He never done nothin like this before. He always shootin' off his basketballs and all. Playin' golf. Smilin' them big teeth. He do all that cuz it come natural. But this basketball bossman thing. That aint natural for him. So Momma's gunna set y'all straight here and now. Mr Michael he be scared. He hidin' cuz he dont know what he should be doin'that would make himself look good again. Sittin' in that box an all by himself or with Mr Jeter (aint he a handsome one). But truth now. Mr Micahel he scared of failin'. He can't talk to y'all about havin' some kinda basketball operation and take a 30 ft jump shoot and make himself look real and all. He just scared. If the team be winnin, he come right out and be be given y'all a kiss. But they aint. And that scare Mr Michael. Make him feel silly and all. So what he do instead? He leave that fine wife of his and goes off havin relations with all them women. A Man do that cause he dont feel good about himself.

When he was with them Washington Gizzards and all, he be scared there too. He was like a big ole trout flappin around on the river bank lookin' for a cool drink of water. So I say I agree with y'all. Mr Micahel need to stop actin' like some school yard baby. Some hoodlum like that gangsta Kobe. I remember his daddy (God rest him), took him outside the house one day and slap him right upside the head sayin' "You start actin' like a man and face your difficulties. And always be grateful for what comes". Mr Micahel, he forget that all them fans that ate them burgers and bought them damn expensive sneakers and all. He wouldnt have been paid all that money if they didnt do that. And now he be forgettin' what be butterin' his biscuts. So I say, give ole Michael a little time now and see if he can step out struttin or whether
he just gunna keepin on being scared. Thats what momma says.

Oh and by the way, my baby Sean, he say he goin' to Jenny Craig right after the season over. Say he can get all the food he want in a big ole truck that come to his house. Damn I hope that boy dont need
the whole truck to bring his food!

LB may be a great coach but hes also a quitter!! He doesnt stay anywhere for long and thats not what we need with our young talent...we need a mentor coach like Silas or Van Gundy or Fratello.

LB was to blame (in part) for the Knicks debacle..remember he walked in knowing full well they were in trouble then when things didnt turn around- he bailed on them! Granted Isiah and Dolan bear blame but so does LB..if you wanna give him credit for SA, LAC, Det, Ind, Phi then you also have to give him credit for his last job...

He is too old.

Could Davidson beat the Bobcats?

Larry Brown has NO chance to be the next coach here. He's white.
I'm sure there's some bro handing out towels at the end of the Bulls bench that would love to give it a try and that Bob Cat Johnson will find more than qualified for the job.

It is a shame that Charlotte, my beloved hometown, still has people who make ignorant and racist comments. I hope the Bobcats hire a qualified coach if Vincent is let go. Larry Brown is a good coach, but I am not sure he would stay long enough. The Bobcats need a good coach who will provide this franchise with some longevity.

Yeah, Token...it's not like the organization hasn't run itself in a completely balanced, fair, above-board manner for its entire existence.

WOW as someone from the UK who is a massive Bobcats fan its sad to see the racists on this board! Seriously get a life. I diddnt think Charlotte was that bad for it but damn.

I will reserve judgment about Bob Johnson being racist until after they hire a head coach to replace SV. If they hire a black head coach who is less qualified than some better white candidates I will know that the real racism is not the posters who bring up the hiring practices of Bob Johnson but Bob Johnson himself!

I know of coarse it would seem Bob Johnson is no racist considering his support for Hillary Clinton but since more than 90% of his staff is black I wonder. If it's not racism it is sheer cronyism on MJ's part.

No matter which it is, neither practice is a good idea for running a pro franchise.
