Wallace out for T-Wolves, maybe year
Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace is out for Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and it’s possible a doctor’s appointment Tuesday could end his season.
Wallace has a groin pull that knocked him out of the second half of Friday’s victory in Toronto and sat him for Saturday’s home loss to the Boston Celtics. He’s scheduled for a magnetic resonance imaging Tuesday, to determine the extent of the injury.
With four games left and the Bobcats out of playoff contention, it’s possible they’ll shut down Wallace to avoid further injury.
However, coach Sam Vincent is hopeful Wallace isn’t done for the season.
“I don’t think so,’’ Vincent said when asked if Wallace was done. “That groin muscle is bothering him. He’s going to stretch on it, work on it, and see what happens in the next four or five days.’’

So with NOTHING to play for, Vincent is willing to risk further injury to Gerald? Are you kidding me? Shut him down for the season. Period. It shouldn't even be a discussion.

Vincent should be shut down as well.

I agree. Shut Vincent down instead.

Can we just shut the franchise down for a couple of weeks for better ping pong balls? Oh and get better Crash, you're gonna be good decent trade bait next year. (Joking) (Maybe).

I think the Bobcats are pretty much slotted with having the 8th highest chance at landing the #1 pick in the lottery (around 2% chance or so I think). I say this team needs a legit 7 footer to pair with Okafor in the front court. DeAndre Jordan is a legit 7 footer with athleticism. He should be there when we pick in the NBA draft. Is he worth the risk?

Need a PG, yesterday!!! Hopefully we can win the Derrick Rose Sweeps!

So when its all said and done Gerald Wallace didn't even play 60 games a year after getting a $9+ million a year contract. WHAT A BUST. Overpaid bust. Old ass Vince Carter is more reliable than him and just as good. G-Hurt is officially an overpaid, unreliable Bust.
Go sit down with fat May and hippie Morrison, G-Hurt. Let's trade the injured trio of Wallace, May, and Morrison now for whatever we can get. Probably not much.

I'd hardly consider Wallace a bust. The first half of the year, he was solid. When he suffered that concussion, it was all down hill. I blame Vincent for putting him at power forward when he shouldn't have been there. Too much of a physical beating for him. I agree with fat May though. I bet he knows where all the good eats in Charlotte are.

DeAndre Jordan's offensive game is ridiculously raw. We may need height, but we need talent and skill as well.
And good counting, Timbo. Wallace has played in 62 games (with games left to play), yet that somehow doesn't add up to 60 in your world. Further, he's being paid $7.5 mil this year, not 9. Granted, your boy Vince Carter is being paid almost twice that ($13.3+ mil), but don't let facts get in the way of your AWESOME argument.

And good counting, Procton. Last I checked 13.3 isn't twice 7.5 you anal prick. Yet somehow that adds up to twice in your world. Wallace's contract is for 6 years, 57 million. Further, do the math Proton, that comes out to an average of 9+ mil a year, which is what I stated. Granted, Vince Carter is not my boy but he is playing through an ankle injury that will last the remainder of the season, not sitting on his ass with hurt nuts like Wallace, but hey, don't let all those facts get in the way of your AWESOME argument. Go to sleep son, you lose.

Welcome to the guys that get paid way too much Club gerald.

"almost"-al·most: adv. Slightly short of; not quite; nearly
Now that you've learned what the word "almost" means, we can agree that 90% (88.8 to be exact) of twice a number is ALMOST twice.
Carter has played a whopping NINE more games than Wallace, and is the 26th-highest-paid player in the NBA (Wallace is the 56th-highest-paid player in the NBA.) Wallace, further, is more than five years younger, but keep complaining. Maybe they'll figure out a way to get another UNC boy to Charlotte to suck it up.

hahaha, the key word there is playing, and that is what Carter is doing. Earning his paycheck. GW aint earning anything.
stop being a little beeyatch GW and put some icy hot on that thing and play, show you have some heart.

Carter does not play for the cats Wallace does and he is the cats versin of Dan Morgan. Procton did you attend Chapel Hill or just drink away your pitiful sorrows on Franklin street. Oh you could not attend Chapel hill that would have required a high GPA.

Procton did you seriously get your nerd dictionary out and start looking up words so you can put definitions in your comments? Man you really don't have a life do you. Go outside and get some fresh air. And get me some lovin'.

Well at least we still have the Charlotte Hornets in the playoffs. To bad we ran them away, we could be hosting some exciting playoff games.
Anyway, you 25 boobcat fans will soon have next year to look forward to. I know, I know, YOU will make the playoffs NEXT year. HA HA HA HA
GO HORNETS

Ray, I actually did attend UNC...wasn't for me. I will note, though, that they do know how to look words that people don't understand (hard ones like "almost") on the internet. Dictionary.com...it's AWESOME.

Procton, if you attended UNC why do you constantly belittle them. I am sorry if you flunked out.

"UNC...wasn't for me."
Translation: Proton was too dumb to go there and failed out.

Vincent is trying to save his job. He's desperate to get as close as he can to last season's win total. He will absolutely play Wallace if he can.

Procton what's your deal man. Every time someone posts an opinion on here you just can't help yourself and have to make smart ass comments about it. Why don't you quit being a little bitch, post your opinions, live with other opinions and quit wasting your time and ours getting all angry and worked up about them.

If the Bobcats had a decent bench, they would not have been forced to play Wallace close to 40 minutes per game for 2/3 of the season. He is a highly paid athlete, but he is human. The more time on the court, the more likely he is to have a serious injury.
This year, you have 6 people on the bench that played minimally. That's a lot for the other 8 guys to endure.

I almost never agree with what Procton says however he still has the right to say what he wants and comment on posts as this is the whole point of the blog.
That said i will now piss him off by saying i love Felton!!!

Picking Derick Rose would be a mistake if we had the number 1 pick. Beasley makes much more sense for us since we need a real low post scorer with variety in his game, not a PG. Felton is a very good PG, its just that he doesn't have a good offensive big and catch and shoot guys to work with. If you're a drive and kick PG you need shooters around you. Right now, JRich and Carroll are the only guys who can catch and shoot, which is why the Bobcats are better when Gerald Wallace is injured, and why Felton gets more assists with him out. When he's healthy there's normally only one shooter on the floor. With GWall out, there's an extra shooter for Felton to set up. Wallace is obviously more talented than Carroll, but having another catch and shoot guy has a much more positive effect on the team than another guy who likes to drive and score at the rim(he doesn't like to move without the ball much either, he'd rather receive it on the wing and create). I think Wallace being injury prone and not complimentary to the players on the team is a good enough reason to trade him. He's talented and has a very reasonable contract so we shouldn't have too much of a problem getting something good in return. The NBA is a jumpshooting game and we don't hit our open jumpshots. Wallace's release is so slow that he can't get it off unless there's no one anywhere near him, Nazr rarely shoots outside of 8 ft and Okafor never does. It's waaaayyy too easy to defend a team like that. If neither your 4 or 5 can shoot and help spread the D then your SF must be able to catch and shoot in order for the offense to run smoothly. What we need in the backcourt is someone like Matt Carroll but better. Someone like Mike Miller could be a possibility and could work perfectly at SF, or someone like Ben Gordon(if he lowers his price tag) at SG and move JRich to SF. With guys like Miller and Beasley in the lineup we would have the type of inside-outside balance necessary to be a contender. If May is actually healthy next season, he could help out being a big that can hit jumpshots as well as finish plays, but you can't count on him being healthy so the Bobcats have to get a scoring big man this offseason.
Derick Rose would be another guy who likes to drive and score, and since he isn't a particularly great outside shooter, he wouldn't help anything.
Oh, and we need a new coach too.
