Bell says his calf is fine
A small bit of good news for the Charlotte Bobcats, following that debacle in Detroit: Shooting guard Raja Bell said the sore right calf that sidelined him Wednesday shouldn't cost him any more games.
Bell took some jump shots Thursday and said the calf feels OK, certainly well enough that he'll play Saturday at home versus the Portland Trail Blazers. He said he started feeling pain in his calf in the third quarter of Tuesday's home loss to the Orlando Magic. Now he thinks that might have been a severe cramp, rather than a strained muscle.
Between video review and on-court work, the Bobcats practiced for over three hours Thursday afternoon. Coach Larry Brown said after practice he's shocked by the lacking effort he's seen from his players the past two games. Brown's always believed you can coach execution, but not effort. I'll be writing more about this in Friday's Observer.

Hey Rick,
What are the chances LB will start Mohammed since he actually has an offensive move or two in the post?
Chandler hasn't earned it. He should be a fine C/PF coming off the bench.

Brown's blaming his team of role-player extraordinaires for the fact he put together a bunch of guys who can't score in the NBA.

worst move in team history has got to be moving matt carroll for diop. it has to be. that might be one of the worst moves ever in nba history. they would have been better off blindly adopting a child and teaching him basketball. that child would stand a chance of developing a game and skill set. diop doesn't.
it made sense if they were gonna keep morrison but after they dealt him.....its wild stupid and was even stupid if they kept morrison rather than buying out carroll or trading him in the offseason when teams are more capable of taking on contracts.

Chandler, Diaw, and Felton stink. Diaw for lack or effort, Chandler and Felton for LOFT.
Nazi needs to start, Diaw needs to get his head out of his ass and Raymond needs to not shoot unless it is a layup.
Larry Brown is not without blame, that lineup with Diaw as the center has got to go. The small lineup against the Knicks wasn't hitting on much and it sure isn't going to work against a real team. Maybe if we actually had some teamspeed. Another piss poor effort like the last two nights and LB will begin to be part of the problem.
The inactives every night should be
Diop and Radmonovich. Give his minutes to Derrick Brown ASAP. He's inexperienced but not lacking for husltle and has shown some talent.

chalottean - what was worse than trading Carroll for Diop was SIGNING Carroll for FIVE years - that is what enabled the trade.

It is time to give Ajinca, and maybe even the rookies, real minutes. If you're going to stink, might as well have the young guys out there to give some hope for the future.

signing carroll for 5 years made complete sense.........before trading for jason richardson. and even if they did stupidly overpay carroll, atleast he was capable of earning it. he was gonna give you what you paid for, if you played him. they just stopped playing him. but to trade a contract of a functioning shooting guard that could be an asset in another trade for a dead weight big man who you can't trade....is just wild stupid. especially after just trading for mohommed the year before.
