Jackson in Orlando; Brown plans to start him

Barring some freak car accident between Orlando's airport and the arena, Stephen Jackson is set to start for the Charlotte Bobcats hours after being traded Monday from the Golden State Warriors.

Jackson called coach Larry Brown to say his plane had landed and he was headed for the arena. Brown said he intends to start Jackson at shooting guard tonight versus the Magic. That seemingly implies that the Bobcats and Warriors agreed to waive trade physicals so that Jackson could be available.

I should think the other player the Bobcats acquired, point guard Acie Law, will be inactive.

Rick - is AC Law's contract for 2010-2011 guarenteed? Did the Warriors exercise the option last month. I can't find anything that AC is signed for 2010-2011.

Could be he was a throw in the make the current year salary cap numbers work, and an expiring contract? If so, the impact on Bob's 2010-2011 isn't that bad: $1.6mm.

Hey Rick
Since Iverson has been waived why not bobcats sign him. Have a starting lineup of
C-Diaw
PF or SF-Jackson or Wallace
SG-Iverson
PG-Felton

I think that line up would score some points and play some decent defense, ultimately playoffs

trading draft pick for jason richardson, trading richardson for raja and boris, then trading raja for jackson... all in less than three years??? we wont know until this season plays out, but does it not seem like this team is running in circles?? how much better is...
Chandler
Boris
Wallace
Jackson
Felton
...than...
Nazr
Okafor
Wallace
Richardson
Felton
...were? seems to me this team is becoming a revolving door with very few positive results to show for it. guess i better let the season play out and hopefully ill be forced to eat my words :)

I like this trade. Jackson will provide some much needed offense more consistently and with greater scoring than Bell and we still have Henderson/Wallace as great defensive players.

Hopefully we can rebound before we are to far in the hole to have a winning season(and get to playoffs).

this guy saying diaw should be starting at center ALONG WITH the small backcourt of iverson and felton should be banned for posting offensive content.

this makes the diop for carroll deal THAT MUCH more stupid.

Charlottean, What do you mean, the bobcats are already playing a smaller line up. Have you been watching the games.
C-Diaw
PF-was Rad
SF-Wallace
SG-Felton
PG-Aug

They want to run, that team will run and score.
