Beasley's quote haunting him?

The Charlotte Bobcats are up 46-21 in the second quarter over Miami, and Heat forward Michael Beasley's impolitic quote might have put something extra into the Bobcats' tank.

Beasley was asked Tuesday night about his team blowing a 29-10 lead over the Bobcats in Miami recently. His reply to the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel: "If we stay together and stay focused, it should be an easy win.''

The Bobcats made sure every player saw Beasley's quote before tip-off tonight. Considering their 82 percent shooting and intense defense in the first quarter, looks like Beasley's words made an impression.

WTG Bobcats....make Beasley eat crow. I'm sure the MIA coach will be giving Mr. Beasley a tongue lashing after this game tonight. Let's keep the intensity going in the 2nd half too...no more of a let down like we had with Sacramento. #5 spot in sole position with this win tonight! On our way to a good and tough road trip next. Let's get win #5 and 6,7,8 to come this week!

ever since Beasley f*cke UNCC by selling out for $$ to go to K-State, he's been cursed! F U Beasley! You are garbage!

If it gets the team fired up, I'm all for it, but let's be serious here --- he didn't say, the Bobcats suck! He said, "if we play together, as a team, we can win" What's the harm in that? I'm glad we're torching them but we were torching the Kings and struggled at the end. I still feel good about it!! Go 'Cats!

Dion, he said "easy win", meaning in so many words the Bobcats were no competition.

The Bobcats have been playing together for a while now. I hope things can only get better for them after the All-Star break.

Ummm - big difference between "we can win" and "it should be an easy win", which is what the actual quote was. "It should be an easy win" pretty much says "they suck".

This is great!!! Another blowout...loving the ride.

Dion...

I hate beasley too...blah blah blah but he didn't sell out UNCC for money. He went to better program along with his friend. Not money. Have a nice night.

Go Bobcats!

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOU GUYS

Biggest margin of victory in franchise history... that's how you get ready for a big road trip.

Posted by: David | Jan 20, 2010 9:49:13 PM

He said "EASY WIN". Looks like a 39 point bashing might shut him up for a while.

Gerald should be an All-Star. He and Jax form one of the best pair of wings in the NBA. You have to really look at our defense in order to appreciate our streak though. Watching closely, Raymond does a fantastic job at defending opposing point guards and not allowing them to do what they want to do. This usually disrupts the whole offensive flow of the opposing team. He kills the head. We really need to make sure we do everything possible to keep Felton.

Dear Michael "Easy" Beasley,
SHUT YOUR FACE
Sincerely,

Beasley and the heat got yal a### whipped tonight. UHHH don't u feel a little stupid right now. Thinking that the bobcats are pushovers from previous years. They can beat anyone team in the league if they play together. Maybe they get into the top 3 4 or 5 seed by playoff. Yes playoffs.

Where's Procton? Where is he doing his retarded complaining these days?

Posted by: noj | Jan 21, 2010 9:52:50 AM

noj - You will not see Procton now, he HATES when the cats are playing well and winning. He must be in so much pain right now! Also having Felton playing better than he has in the past will be eating him up.
Cue Procton posting some bull sh*t stats that show Felton and the cats somehow suck hmmm

Beasley was recruited by Delante Hill who played a 3 years at Charlotte before he transferred to Bowie State(Div.II). He was a recruiter/assist.coach at Charlotte & when Bobby Huggins moved onto Kanssas State for 1 year he nabbed Hill to be a coach/assistant.Beasley followed his good friend Hill to K-state.Hill was the main reason Kansas State earned the services of Beasley for one season. Beasley originally committed to Charlotte when Hill was on staff with Bobby Lutz. But then Huggins recruited Hill to his staff at Kansas State, and when Hill left for Manhattan, Kan., Beasley switched his commitment to K-State. And the forward honored the commitment as Hill stayed on the staff with Martin once Huggins bolted for his alma mater, West Virginia, 2 years ago.

i don't understand the problem with beasley's quote. it WAS an easy win.

Rick, EPSN.com lists DJ Augustin as one of the ten most likely players to be traded before the deadline. Do you see that as a real possibility, and if so, who do you see us getting in return?

Posted by: Tom | Jan 21, 2010 2:42:23 PM

Rick,

Acie or DJ for the Buck's Joe Alexander?

Posted by: caleb | Jan 21, 2010 4:40:09 PM

the starters for the all-star game just came out... Kevin Garnett and Allen Iverson will be starters.... its looking more and more like this stupid system will result in gerald wallace missing an all-star nod yet again.

Posted by: tmack | Jan 21, 2010 9:51:13 PM

i hope we don't give up on DJ already. I mean the guy had games last year on SEVERAL occassions where he didn't just play well, he dominated. trading him will be a really tough pill to swallow. i mean adam morrison had dominant games his rookie year but trading him post surgery when it was at his request and when brown clearly didn't like his game was easy to swallow. but trading DJ? no. that would be horrible. I'm against making any deal that doesn't involve tyson chandler, gana diop, acie law, stephen graham, and maybe gerald henderson. everybody else should be listed as untouchable INCLUDING ajinca.
