Relatively good news on Chandler
According to Charlotte Bobcats coach Larry Brown, center Tyson Chandler got as encouraging a report from a New York foot specialist as he or the team could hope.
The doctor, who operated on Chandler last spring, said he didn't see a need for further surgery or for Chandler to sit out an extended period of time. Chandler has played just three games since Christmas, due to various left foot and ankle ailments.
Since there was no expectation Chandler could play Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies, Chandler flew home to Charlotte from New York.
Although he felt better Thursday and Friday, center Nazr Mohammed (back spasms) appears also to be out versus the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies might be without backup point guard Jamaal Tinsley due to a sore hamstring.

i thought the new was going to be that they needed to amputate it so we could get the insurance money.

It's quite evidently clear that Chandler is making this injury appear more serious than it really is. It's no surprise he'd rather sit his fat booty and collect his paycheck than to help contribute to this team.
The Bobcats need to get rid of this experiment by the end of this season and move on. He's not worth the roster spot.

Hopefully he will be valuable next year as an expiring contract, and a healthy one at that at over 11 mill...thats the only positive from this clown...

Rick, any news on Larry Hughes signing? Also, is Wallace gimpy? He seems a little "off" since ASG.
BTW, nice job on "The Beat" the other night, you got presence, you need to send that resume into ESPN.

Thanks. It was fun doing that show. And the people I was working with -- David Aldridge and Brian Windhorst -- are great at what they do.
I think there's a good chance they'll sign Hughes. I'd look for it Monday or later, if they do. So long as Hughes was waived before Mar. 1, he'd be eligible for the playoff roster.
You know, either of us can pretend to be a coach or a general manager and that's no great harm. But is it right to pretend to be a doctor? You really think you're in any position to say Chandler is making this injury worse than it is?
It's awfully presumptious to assume you know someone else's body. And it's really cold.

It's good news that the Doctor has effectively cleared him from a long term absence, hopefully it will make Chandler realize that if you are a professional athlete getting paid Millions ($12M) dollars a year, there is the very likely possibility that you will have to play through pain. Just ask GW or Raymond or Nazr.
Chandler's previous approach of "I can't do anything on it until there is no discomfort" is comical in professional sports.

It was a salary deal all you pseudo fans. We get out of the Chandler contract 2 years before the Okafor contract expires. Okafor has not made the Hornets better anyhow.

hell okafor , chandler will both be out of jobs in three to four years, we traded long term garbage for short term garbage, i rather have a stink house for a little while than for long term, just saying..ajincia is garbage too, my 12 year old son can beat them, he can dribble, shoot and pass..
