Wallace to play, Chandler practices

Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace said his left hamstring is well enough that he'll play Saturday against the New Orleans Hornets. Wallace missed Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers, the last leg of a six-game Western Conference road trip.

Center Tyson Chandler fully practiced Friday, for the first time since being diagnosed with a stress reaction in his left foot just before Christmas. Chandler ran through plays, jumping and dunking, and said after practice he felt well. However, Chandler doesn't anticipate being activated for the game against the Hornets, who traded him to the Bobcats in a deal for Emeka Okafor.

I hope Tyson is practicing to be a Forward. Because Nazr is our center, and our need is a forward since Diaw only shows up to play once and a while.

true that.....

Fellas:
I certainly understand your point Naz is playing very well and his minutes shouldn't dry up with Chandler's return. And there are certain matchups when Naz and Tyson playing together makes sense.
However you would NOT want a steady diet of that. For instance, think of the matchup with the Hornets; David West plays all over the court; you want someone more mobile, like Diaw chasing him out to the 3-point line.

Great news on Wallace. Would have been nice to see a Chandler/Okafor matchup, oh well. Got my tickets in hand and am looking forward to the game. Hopefully I'll get there early enough for a GW action figure! :)

I agree! Naz is playing great right now and our position of need is definitely the 4. We need to get RID of Diaw!! like the first post says, he plays when he wants to. It's unbelievable how he can go games without putting up a shot and then score 25 everytime we play Pheonix! I'd rather Derrick Brown play. He sometimes plays lost like you would expect out of a rookie but at least you know you're going to effort and great defense out of him. Diaw was embarrassing against the lakers! zero points, 4 rebounds, a turnover, and 5 fouls, of which 3 were from pure laziness!! You can't expect to win when you have to play 4 on 5!

hopefully dr. jeckyll won't stink up the court tomorrow night, i hope mr. hyde will come out to play, if you have no idea who i am talking about it's diaw, aka"dr. jeckyll and mr. hyde" never know what you are going to get on the court with that guy..

Mr. Bonnell: Well, how about Derrick Brown starting at the 4 until Diaw plays to his potential on a more consistent basis? I agree that Nazr would find it challenging keeping up with some of the quicker PFs in the league, but I consider Derrick Brown to be a significant upgrade over Diaw, based on the way both have been playing lately. Something tells me some time on the bench would do Boris a world of good.

Probably the most important thing is that Nazr's minutes are not reduced at all with Chandler's return. He's going to give the same 100% whether he's coming off the bench or starting, but he has earned every ounce of playing time this season.

Nazr is probably our most consistently productive player per minute this season and we can not afford to take a step back in our playoff push.

Newintz:
I sure don't think Diaw is playing well, but I think some of you don't consider the whole situation. While he's often passive on offense, he's had some good games of late on defense. Not necessarily the Lakers game, but elsewhere.
I think it's always easier to appreciate offense because there are more measurables. But if you start Derrick Brown, two things happen:
1. You further marginalize Diaw. I don't think embarrassing him will make him better. It's likely to push him into a shell.
2. Because a rookie has some good play in 10 minutes doesn't mean he'll be effective yet in 35. Brown makes mistakes -- very understandably -- and you don't want him out there night-after-night in crunch time.
I totally understand the frustration with Diaw. But overrreacting by benching him makes them worse. I'm very confident of that.

The bobcats are in real talk with the New York Knicks about a trade for Jared Jeffries and Acie Law. The needed a way to trade the two with having more depth at the Power Forward for the bobcats and give the New York Knicks a better team than hey had before the trade. So here is a trade:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yzmwdyz

If it doesn’t appear as a link this is the trade:

Charlotte Gets-

Jared Jeffries (PF)
Jordan Hill (PF)

New York Gets-

Acie Law (PG)
Stevie Graham (SF/PF)
DeSagna Diop (C)

Charlotte gets a less salary coming in and New York gets the point guard they want and two solid bench players to back up their starters. Charlotte will have a three deep Power Forward position and more flexibility to play Jordan Hill at Center or power forward (Jordan is better at doing multiple positions than Tyson Chandler).

I love these hypothetical trade scenarios. Believe it or not, you actually have to give something up to get something in return. The knicks are trying to shed Jeffries contract for expirings, why would they want Diop when his contract is even worse?

How about Augustin for Hill straight up? Who says no first?

Rick and everyone... What we all saw from Diaw at Pheonix was... DIAW!!!! from last year. Something has happened. He in my opinion is unhappy with Charlotte now.

After the Pheonix game and the game after, I said to myself "their is NO faking now!" if Diaw goes back to his old self than something is wrong and it's not going to get better. He is Homesick from his Buddy(parker) or unhappy in this small market, with a small role in the offense, since Jack exploded!!
He has played an average part to this offense(very competent/helpful) outside of a few games. I don't care what anyones opinion is, We saw Diaw last year and this year at Pheonix(the real Diaw) and the Video Doesn't lie... Perceive it how you want, but it all comes back to, this is DIET Diaw we have now! I do think he is frustrated. Because down in the paint, when mohammed is out.. He holds his hands up wanting the ball and Jack, Ray nor Wallace, no one looks to him. In the blazers game he looked, seriously irritated.
It looks like he feels and is playing like... A Football Analogy, if I can... A Keyshawn or Smitty this year or a Anquan Boldin. Basically an underappreciated/under-utilized talent!

Sorry for the long opinion!

Forgive my grammer please.

This sport is one of the Reward Sports, you play hard on "D" you get a chance for success on the other end. Diaw is getting limited offensive attempts for his hard work on the "D" SIDE! Which is his frustration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Opinion, Forgive Me ! I know Everyones frustration!

Tyson Chandler and Derrick Brown would make a nice tandem to fill the backup PF role, depending on the size and mobility of whoever they have to guard.

Hopefully LB will relegate Chandler to that role once he comes back as a starter and causes us to lose 3 of 4 games....

David:
I think Augustin for Hill would be a good deal for both teams. But sportswriters and fans don't make trades.

Yea I used to be really big on DJ, but this year I have really seen how undersized he is. I mean a small G is one thing, D. Rose is a small G, but DJ just doesn't have the moves.

Posted by: On and On | Feb 6, 2010 4:19:10 PM

Well I guess Diaw made me look stupid against the hornets!
