has anyone notice Linsanity lately?
i mean this kid can shoot but also unselfish which makes a great PG.
but man bobcats seem to be in a starting mode with no one stepping up.

This is the team that Jordan built.

LOL. Silas the Great is in denial! He actually thinks once Augustin and Henderson gets back they will be better!
THEY ARE NOT THE PROBLEM "COACH", YOU ARE!! They still went 3-15 with Augustin and Henderson starting! Maybe if your worthless coaching staff did anything to develop these players, or maybe if you had some semblence of a gameplan, or made any adjustments, things would be different!
Silas and his staff are a joke! Just like MJ and this team!

What...you don't like the gameplan of Kemba bringing it up and passing it to Bismack at the high post as soon as he crosses the timeline and letting him set up the offense?
...and people complained about Larry Brown's little spin move by the PGs!
If Steven Silas really is the heir apparent let us fervently hope he brings in some serious experience to help offensively. Bernie's 2 page play book looks like a novel compared to what we appear to be working with.

High post offense is very effective for a team like ours with guys like thomas, mullens, boris who can knock that jumper down. Biyombo not much, but he can basically dunk from there.
It pulls the other teams bigs out from under the basket which opens up driving lanes.
Nba coaching is like jockeying, the horse is more to blame than anything. We dont have ready horses. We have babies. We have injured horses. Nba coaching is about managing players and their confidence and what not. Those are strengths of silas.
Yall act like this isnt the same coach who took the hornets into the playoffs multiple times.
The horses will come.

Yeah...it's working SO well too!
Seriously...do the guys not look totally lost on offense to you? Know what the difference between this year and last year's team under Silas other than Kwame Brown? Last year Silas was running Larry Brown's plays. This year is his show.
People are giving a pass to Silas due to sentimental reasons. The proof of his ineptitude is evident every game.
Posted by: spectre | Feb 11, 2012 12:08:18 PM
No people are giving him a pass because of his roster.
We are horrible. We are young. Our best player who would be the 3rd and 4th best players on most teams have missed a lot of time. Sure we only won 3 games with them, but we might have won 4 since then if healthy. This team shows a ton of promise for the future.
Any real bobcat fan should be elated we are losing a ton of games right now. We might finally land THE GUY that we've never had. And the way davis and barnes are playing, we look to safely be getting just that.
If i am not mistaken, the worst team in the league is still guaranteed a top 3 or top 5 pick. So maybe we dont get davis but we get barnes or sullinger at the least. Thats still a big improvement over what we've had. This draft could easily be 2003 again. And we're poised for a top pick. I am thrilled about it.
You have to factor in the youth, lack of offseason and lack of practice time. We'd still be a lousy team w/l wise but we would look better. This same exact roster will look 10 times better next year. We have no guys like a blatch or young on washington or a cousins in sacramento or stuckey in detroit. We have good young smart guys that will be good for a long time. We have coachable guys like biyombo and henderson and brown. They WILL GET BETtER and silas WILL win games with them if given the chance.
Brown wasnt winning last year with a better roster and he's one of the greatest coaches of all time. Silas gets a pass this year, the way john fox gets a pass for last year. They were handed a BS roster.

I have tried very, very hard to be a fan of this team from its inception and have spent thousands of dollars with this organization. However, we have tried good assets like Wallace and Chandler and Shannon Brown and gotten little in return. If you had replaced Felton with what I'm seeing of Lin on that playoff team, that team could have made some noise. The botton line is Felton was not a distributor. I will tell you that the most competent, valuable piece to this whole puzzle right now is Silas. I would put him in the top 10 coaches in the NBA. If you are railing on him, you are looking for a distraction from an historically awful team. No coach is going to win with this team.

Top ten coaches in the NBA? LOL!
Hey, guess who coached Lin at GSW? If you're pining after Lin then you should be wondering why we didn't have an idea he was such a talent being as how we had a guy who'd been working with him?
We're guaranteed a top 4th pick if we have the worst record. Know how many teams with the worst record have won the lottery since it's inception?
2 teams.
You can be elated that we're out of games by the 1st quarter. I'll continue to be upset that our "coach" who dislikes calling plays is most likely setting our younger guys back years.

Well the MSG is fine now with linsanity but i hope there might be a chance that they would somehow trade carmelo

Once again Charlottean showing his brilliance. lol. This team is not young and they are not terrible. I've made this point time and time again. Diop, Carroll, Najera, Maggette, Thomas, Brown, White, Diaw, Augustin, Higgins, Mullens, Williams, HAVE ALL BEEN IN THE NBA FOR ATLEAST THREE YEARS! That IS NOT YOUNG!
Futhermore, Biyombo, Walker, Brown, Henderson, Thomas, Williams, Mullens, White, Higgins, Augustin are all young, TALENTED guys THAT ARE NOT BEING COACHED PROPERLY!
This nonsense about leading a horse to water is ridiculous. Silas and his staff still have these guys in the STABLE! THEY ARE NOT BEING LED TO ANYTHING! THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE A GOOD COACHING STAFF TO TEACH!

d.w.g. i corrected you the last time and i'll do it again.
diop and najera aren't core players. neither is matt carroll. nor diaw at this point. maggette has played in 7 games now. 7. he won't be here long term, he might not be here next year if someone gets hurt on another team and they want him.
higgins is a rookie. ROOKIE. you keep including him, yet he's an effing rookie.
mullens has played in A TOTAL OF 53 games in his nba career. he is 22. he came out after his freshmen year and spent a few years d-leaguing it for okc. he's essentially a rookie. walker is 22 in may. augustin is 24. biyombo is the youngest player in the league. d.j. white has played in 87 total games and is 25. reggie williams has played in 110 total games (1 full season) and he's 25. henderson is 24. derrick brown is 24.
tyrus thomas is the only core player who has played a TON of games and minutes. he's the oldest of our core players and he's 25.
we are young as hell. we are playing 3 rookies extensively right now. diaw's contract is expiring, so is najera's. maggette, diop and carroll all expire next year. EVERY SINGLE PLAYER LEFT ON THE ROSTER is 25 or younger. and thomas and williams are the only ones not playing on 1st round rookie scale or in derrick brown and higgins case, minimum scale contracts.
the only guys on our team with more than 82 games starting experience: augustin, diaw, maggette, najera (barely and spread over 11 years), diop (barely and spread over 10), carroll ( again barely, spread over 8). only augustin, maggette and boris ever started for a full season. that's the experience you want on your team? look at every playoff team in the league, they have their entire starting lineup with multiple years of starting experience. you are frankly........an idiot.
and spectre, i agree that it's not to be elated that the pick could be 2, 3, or 4......assuming drummond does the smart thing and goes back for another year at uconn.....that 4th pick could be potentially a big drop off from davis, barnes, sullinger. but either of those 3 will be a HUGE building piece if not a 15 year franchise guy. pray for davis. especially the way thomas has disappeared......a frontcourt of davis, biyombo, mullens 3 man rotation could be nasty and it could be for 10 + years.
i also agree it's not easy to deal with getting blown out regularly. this wasn't happening when we were healthy, we were competitive in almost every game as one would expect. i would be thrilled if we lost every single game in overtime.
paul silas is not a top 10 coach in the league. he's also not bottom 5. but he's not better than....... poppovich, adleman, van gundy, karl, mchale, mcmillan, brooks, franks, thibbedou (i know i butchered that), rivers, collins, and probably not better than spoelstra, vogel, d'antoni maybe not del negro or larry drew, scott skiles, bryon scott, gentry, hollins. what he is though.......is good for a rebuild. he's the right guy for right now. no great coach wanted to deal with our horrible front office and personnel moves. we need horses, any jockey will work for right now but we need horses.
he's better than mike brown, flip saunders, mark jackson by default, corbin by default, smart by default, casey by default, williams by default.
not top 10. but still the right guy for now. lawrence frank should be the guy we go after in 2 years because the pistons were effed before he got there and he will fail miserably there but he's a great coach and young enough to be the franchise guy for 20 years.

Back in the day I used to agree with Charlottean most of the time but lately I believe he is suffering a nervous brakdown based on his contradicting lack of logic posts. Relax close yur eyes picture something tranquil and peaceful and this too shall pass.
Posted by: TrueBBallFan | Feb 13, 2012 11:43:31 AM
what lacked logic? the dude said our team wasn't young and that higgins was a rookie.
how can you not look at barnes, sullinger, and most of all davis and not feel like we're bound to get a franchise guy in this draft?
