The only ones that are tradeable (Henderson, DJ Augustin) on this team are ones the Bobcats don't want to actually trade.

Stay put for once, stop letting teams dump bad contracts on you, keep doing what you are now freeing up money and preparing for Anthony Davis...

It's hard for me to believe some team wouldn't give us a draft pick for Boris Diaw... I'm not saying it'll be a lottery pick, but you'd think a contending team would offer a late first/early 2nd for him.

That might have happened before, but the way he played this year, nobody wants to spend a million or 2 or 3 on him. We should just waive him and save the veteran minimum that someone will surely pay him. Try to trade him by all means but i doubt it happens. The lakers might take him at the last second if they decide to go all in with their current roster and dont use the trade exception on beasley. But i doubt it. Almost none of the other teams that need a guy like him on the bench have anything tradable or cap room/exceptions to take him back.

I like the idea of thomas and a pick for an expiring to save the money entirely instead of amnesty and continue to pay him. Cleveland for jamison?

Tyrus Thomas has some weight loss and digestive issues? If its Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis its serious and his career could be in jeapordy.

Posted by: Paul | Feb 22, 2012 8:56:59 AM

his career is in jeopardy regardless. if it were the nfl, he'd have already been cut haynesworth style.

i think he can work as a 3. if gerald wallace did, he can. they just need to coach him up to that. and he needs to get whatever is wrong with him right. i hope they get it figured out because I like the guy and I like the potential outcome that could be (still not with 8 million, but worth keeping).

but the smart move would be to try and package the pick portland owes us with thomas and take back a smaller salary. or maybe something where we send say.....diop and thomas to the wizards for rashard lewis? take on about 8 million next year but get a servicable guy in the interim and save 8 or 9 on the long term in the years when we will need it most.

washington seems like the most suitable trade candidate since they are easily equally effed but with bigger long term problems. if we could swap an amnesty candidate for one of their head cases and save us a bit of money when we do use the amnesty clause.....that would be awesome. or if we could roll carroll, maggette, and diop up to get lewis.......that too would be awesome.

carroll, diop, maggette, thomas, for lewis and blatche. amnesty blatche if that's allowable. if not, you go diaw, thomas, diop for lewis.

you take back.....8.14 million next year but save 8.694 and 9.388 the next 2 years netting about 9.664 in savings. washington gets 8 million off the books for next year to overspend in free agency now and build around wall, free agent to be named later (think eric gordon getting a max contract offer), thomas, blatche, mcgee getting resigned.

it's not a bad move for both sides.

we don't need to bring in anybody over the age of 26 unless it's to save us money one way or another (no dampiering).

Do not trade any player...the season is loss.....let those expiring contracts get off the books and apply amnesty on Tyrus Thomas. Mark Carroll gone, Diaw gone....Margette gone, and keep DJ Augustin, Hedo, Bismack Biyomo, Walker, Brian Mullen, and reevaluate Derick Brown and DJ white(don't keep the both of them). Use the cap space for free agency and hopefully the draft pawn out well for the cats. This draft is really deep.

^^^^ brown and white don't play the same position. its byron not brian mullens. maggette, carroll don't expire this year but next and we don't have turkoglu we have henderson. and even if we amnesty thomas, we still have to pay him so it doesn't help us to amnesty him it just hurts a little less.

Hopefully Hedo will start tonight. Would at least give us some 3 point shooting. SMDH

do we even have any draft picks this yr? dont we owe chi a 1st rd?

I understand why no major trades may happen. We've set the course might as well stay on it until we reap the benefits or suffer the consequences.

I read the Cats have a $1.5M trade exception from the Wallace trade that expires around the 24th? What can they do with it?

Posted by: rdillon | Feb 22, 2012 4:38:50 PM

that trade exception is too small to bear consequence.

i still say we should be looking to bring livingston back one way or another to pair with walker. milwaukee is barely using him AND udrih.

Rick has a face for radio and voice for twitter! Perfect for the bobs!

Posted by: Moe | Feb 23, 2012 12:45:55 AM

Why is the camera angle always looking'up' at Rick? Is this supposed to make him look taller?

Posted by: eduardo | Feb 23, 2012 9:38:44 AM

Let's see how the team does with Henderson coming back.. No excuses then and they need to win some games.

Posted by: robert troup | Feb 23, 2012 10:59:39 AM

Rick does not know what he's even talking about,Tyrus is a great player who hasn't got a shot. We need to dump diaw immediately for a draft pick or nothing, or package him with DJ for a decent big and a pick. Derrick Brown needs to start because he is young and has potential why play veterans like Maggette and Boris it is a waste of playing time that we could use to build our future teams, our seasons already done STOP PLAYING VETERANS AND TRYING TO GET W'S AND GIVE OUR YOUNG GUYS EXPERIENCE. New starting lineup... Kemba, Henderson or DJ, Derrick Brown, Tyrus Thomas, Bismack Biyombo.

Posted by: Eddy | Feb 23, 2012 2:51:28 PM

^^^ the way its going now is the right way to an extent. the vets are good for developing the young'ns. if you had nothing but young and inexperienced guys on the floor, the ball doesn't move properly and guys are spaced right and setting screens right and everybody suffers. you need guys like DJ and boris to help the young'ns. maggette has done better than expected of late as well. you just don't want them taking away from others development.

the big problem we have is.......we don't have too many clear cut definite gold chip prospects. biyombo is probably the closest thing, kemba close second only because of the position crisis, but then you have a large gap between them and the group of brown, white, mullens. and you could lump thomas in that group even though he IS experienced. you just can't tell out of that group who is clearly better because at times each of them has stood out and others they look the same. so its hard to determine who to build around and give the minutes to.

dj and hendo weren't included in the discussion because they are already on their way. they aren't much of question marks, these other guys are.

i think silas has done well with the distribution of playing time, rotations maybe not so much but he's given everybody chances. thomas had his time playing good minutes, mullens, white, brown....all of them have started multiple games. everybody is getting their shot. that's important.

biyombo looked GREAT last night. i mean that for a rookie, not for a pro but as a prospect, you could see what he can become in 3 years. he could very well be shawn kemp or dwight howard or something.

Get a leader for this team on the sideline and floor. Margette needs to go, anytime you come out and say your team lack talent, evaluate yourself, what are you doing to fix it as a veteran player. This team will do find once they get rid of some of the veterans players who are not giving 100% , coaches and front office staff. Give this team to someone who really want to have a competitive team in Charlotte
