So it looks like we are basically handing the 3rd pg role to Cory Higgins again? Would have loved to have brought in another solid pg or two to have a little competition.

one year was enough on that front. seriously. it's not as if there's sooooooooooooooooooo many guys that are glaringly better than him or that he's soooooooooooooooooooooo horrible. but he's not good enough to be given a 2nd year on his dad's team. he needs to move out of daddy's house and get his own job. it's disrespectful to the fans. it's like they want us to hate the team. they try everything imaginable to make us hate the team.
kind of disappointed there aren't any other players on the roster outside of our guys. no older guys making a comeback, no college stars or d-league stars that deserve a shot. but that should mean a heavy dosage of walker, biyombo, mullens, kidd-gilchrist, taylor. which is a good thing considering 4 of those guys should be playing together a lot this year AND next. good to build some chemistry.

get rod higgins kid outta here!!!

I would be happer if they gave cory higgins his dad's job just to fire his dad.

Cory Higgins does not deserve to be on an NBA roster. Moves like this is the reason why Rod Higgins needs to go. Let Cho be the full-time GM!

Dear Michael Jordan:
One of the best players in NBA history, in addition to being Coach of the Year and Executive of the year for a Small Market Team in the Eastern Conference is currently unemployed.
Please, get rid of Mr. Rod Higgins. By now you should have enough reasons to do that. Then go after the guy I described in the previous paragraph. In case you don't know, his name is Larry Bird. With Larry Bird and Rich Cho, the Charlotte Bobcats will have a real front office for the first time in franchise history.
Thank you,
A Fan & STH

Higgins should be so gone. He makes Livingston look like Derrick Rose.
How can we not get even a 2nd year scrub from somewhere else.

Ah, Friends of Mike. Only way you can explain how Rod Higgins is still here which leads to Cory Higgins being here. Cory Higgins would not be the 12th man on any other roster in this league or even on most NBDL rosters. It's a joke.
I don't really understand why Jordan owns this team. You can hang out with your friends somewhere else for a lot less money. He cares more about playing favorites than fielding a competitive NBA team.

Oh and Bonnell wanted to commend you on the Chandler article you wrote. It takes a big person to admit they are wrong, and that's essential what you did. You were the biggest proponent of getting Chandler out of here with comments like "he wasn't a productive player", or "its not like they just traded an All Star". No not an All Star. Only the NBA defensive MVP and an Olympian.

I don't care if they keep Higgins as a third string PG. What i want to see is how Ralph Sampson III does. We could use a third string center and although he was a disappointment in college he might do well in the pros when he is single covered and only asked to be a role player.

Just read Jon Kreft is on the Memphis summer league team... Why did the Bobcats not take a shot on him? The only reason he didn't excel at FSU was his off the court and classroom issues. Those won't slow him down in the pros... Cats missed a solid "big body" to rotate in at Center about 5-8 miuntes a game to set screens, rebound and score garbage buckets.

GET FU**ING MARSHON BROOKS!! THE KID IS GONNA BE SOMETHING GREAT!!
Posted by: james | Jul 10, 2012 11:37:31 AM
Shut up and enjoy your $2 season tickets, plebs. I'm grooming Cory to be another kiss up. He'll be running the Knicks in 10 years!
- 'Hot' Rod Higgins.
PS. Cory felt like no one on the team liked him. So I brought along his college teammate to keep him company on the road. You fans should just be happy we even decided to field a summer league team.

James you are right about Brooks... Huge scorer at Providence and should develope into a stud in the NBA. The only issue is he is 6'5" and we have Henderson and now MKG and Taylor covering the SG and SF positions. Brooks is a perfect NBA SG - but is he better than Henderson? I guess he could come in off the bench as a sixth man like James Harden.

Go for the best player available. Bobcats can restructure their roster later, Brooks could bring so much more potential to this team. Marshon Brooks > portlands pick
Posted by: james | Jul 10, 2012 12:12:46 PM
BTW - I have warmed up to the Cats' two draft picks and I really like the young core of guys - Walker, Henderson, MKG, Taylor, Mullens and Biyombo. I am undecided about Augustine and Thomas. Those two guys were supposed to be part of the core of our team and both let us down last year. I know they both had injuries - along with Maggette - but even when they were healthy something was missing. Perhaps the chemistry was so bad it impacted all the players and this year we will see them get back on track.

Brooks is a keeper - no doubt about that. I like him much more than Humphries. If the Cats could somehow end up with Jamison and Brooks then they would be very interesting going into the season. I would still want another big body to rotate at center but that isn't required. Miami only played one player over 6'9" in the Finals and that was 6'10" Chris Bosh.
Posted by: TheTopScout | Jul 10, 2012 12:20:16 PM
I would trade next year's first round pick (lottery protected of course) for Brooks all day long...
Posted by: TheTopScout | Jul 10, 2012 12:21:52 PM
gerald henderson > marshon brooks. fact.
now marshon brooks > reggie williams. nooooooo doubt, but why give up a future 1st for a backup shooting guard? no thanks.
humphries is a solid post player. SOLID. but he also isn't going to want to be here. if we get something else out of the deal besides just him, it's a good deal. otherwise, it's a waste of cap space that we could spend on hickson or randolph or somebody with long term potential with the club. or save the money all together. or give it to jamison or chris wilcox.

Jamisona and Ian Mahimi should get the last two spots on the roster. Ben Gordon at 6'3" should be good enough to be our 3rd PG during this season. That would open up even more playing time for him and Regie Williams. Is not like the 3rd PG will be so critical, even Regie William played some PG last year and did pretty good in the game we won vs Orlando.
Hopefully Tyrus Thomas goes back to his 12ppg-9rpg-3bpg shape and the Cats will be fun to watch.
Guards:
Augustin, Walker, Gordon, Gerald, Reggie, Carroll
Fowards:
MKG, Brown, Taylor, Jamison and Thomas
Centers:
Biyombo, Mahimi, Mullens and Diop

Call me Crazy but i like the idea of getting Marshon Brooks too. With a draft pick you dont know that your getting it could be a bust. But with Marshon your Getting a shooting that could be the Next Kobe Byrant and I like is way better than Gerald Henderson
Posted by: RAHSHON GAMBLE | Jul 10, 2012 6:40:33 PM
Holy f bombs marshon brooks is not better than hendo. Comparing him to kobe? Are you effing kidding?
He puts up 12 ppg on a horrible team and you guys think hes jesus. Kemba walker did that also. Mind you henderson is only a year older. Brooks is a decent young player. He is not the next ginobli. He is way more reggie williams than reggie miller.
The point of rebuilding is to keep drafting guys until you land an absolute stud. You don't trade potentially great picks for marshon brooks. Thats settling. You can sign a lou williams or a nick young or randy foye or jamal crawford or wayne ellington EVERY SINGLE SUMMER.
And we have 4 shooting guards and a pg that is really a shooting guard. And you guys want another. You are making rod higgins look intelligent and reasonable.

Will any of the summer league games be televised? How good is Ralph Samson? Any chances of him making it?
Posted by: StevenB | Jul 11, 2012 12:45:03 PM
RICK! Any insight to the Brook Lopez rumor? Have we offered a contract. Would be interesting to have a chance at what should have been our #9 pick some years ago.
Posted by: Matt | Jul 11, 2012 3:36:04 PM
Brook lopez? what rumor? they are about to pay that dude a max contract and he isn't remotely close to worth a max contract. No way should he of been the pick then. Dude gets like 5 rebounds per game. For us to have even OFFERed the contract, we would have had to renounce augustin and brown AND amnesty thomas. And brooklyn still would have matched. I can't believe they just gave that dude 61 million over 4 years. That dude is worth 6 a year tops. I'd take mullens over that dude.
I do not understand you guys. Chris kaman and brook lopez and monta ellis and marshon brooks, etc. You guys love losers ddon't you?
Summer league games are on nbatv. I think they stream live from nba.com as well, not positive.
