Charlotte Bobcats forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has cast removed from broken hand

The cast has been removed from Charlotte Bobcats forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s broken left hand, but that doesn’t mean he can start practicing just yet.

Kidd-Gilchrist had a doctor’s appointment Friday, where it was determined he’d healed enough that the cast could be replaced with a splint. Kidd-Gilchrist broke the hand at the base of his left ring finger during the Bobcats’ Dec. 3 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Bobcats coach Steve Clifford said Friday’s examination was a positive step, but that it isn’t yet safe for Kidd-Gilchrist to catch a basketball. So he’s not yet cleared to practice.

The Bobcats are hurting for small forwards right now. They lost Jeff Taylor last week to a ruptured Achilles tendon. That injury will keep Taylor out until sometime this summer.

The Cats didnt use him correctly or enough so why be so concerned about his cast . Be more concerned about what can improve the Cats . Okc had 6 back doors . They got easy buckets in the paint . The Okc bigs pass . The Cats bigs don't . Zeller never passes . Jefferson never ever ever passes . Countless times he was doubled and a cutter went thru , totally open but totally missed by Jefferson . If Durant can pass or Ibaka or Perkins , so can he . He's exactly who they said he was before he got here . .. The black hole and a total stiff on defense . He lets his man score , never provides help defense and is horrifically slow to rotate . This game would have been won by 8 pts had he made passes out of double teams .

Kemba is passing better but he still needs to stop forcing wild shots at the rim . He too could when doubled , pass the ball out instead of those wild shots whc were blocked or forced causing constant run outs by Okc . Henderson needs to get inside and create the contact and get to the line more . Make a trade for a sf that can play both ends .

If we had taken Barnes we would have a legit scorer who plays defense. Instead we got a bust in the making with MKG. He can't shoot, oft injured, and doesn't step it up in prime time. Barnes was the pick and the cats front office screwed the pooch.

We need MKG back especially with the injury to Taylor. Get well young buck. Keep at your craft.

Chill. First off Barnes stats aren't that much better than MKG in terms of scoring and in Golden State the offensive system is a bit more wide open which causes him to get more offense opportunities. MKG is a superior defender, rebounder, and is a year younger. It would be difficult to label a 20 year old a bust, especially when there will be guys drafted in the first round this coming draft that will be older than MKG.

Barnes is no doubt the better scorer, mkg the better defender. I wanted Barnes on draft night and everybody wanted to talk about how he wasn't what he is. Barnes on another team is a star, Barnes on GS especially with Iggy becomes a 5th wheel.

But that doesn't make mkg a bust or an inferior talent. Mkg is a way better rebounder, defender, passer, ball handler than barnes. The biggest obstacle mkg faces is that clifford doesn't believe in him. You put him on a team where the coach believes in him and gives him the ball and room to grow and mkg is a star. We don't have the coach or the player development staff or track record for that. And that's why we keep failing our drafts. Not because of who we pick, but what we do with them afterwards.

Im not debating my opinion so take it!
If McRoberts doesnt shoot a 3 until february it would be too soon!!!
If I was opposing coach, let bob shoot all the 3's he wants. I would take my chances every nigh. He is 100% better than Mullens... However not as shooter.
If they trying to offset with lack of SF then change of plans!

2 nights in a row game in hand,
2:01 left game last nighr up 3, (Not talking about last shot(SMH)), Bobby 3 pt miss and then tonight!
And dont give me that luck shot sht(antic)!
Like Clifford just said " weve go to get past everyone being ok with bobcats losing." We are not gonna get calls when we do well. Not talking about in a game talking about us possibly getting .500 last night, kobe coming back etc.
Our ft attempts have dwindled since we started making more... hhhmmm funny. not really Refs get scouting report to

we gotta get past clifford thinking this team is built to win-now. dude needs to be focused on developing zeller and biz and mkg when he gets back instead of trying to understand stats that he clearly doesn't.

"we gotta get past clifford thinking this team is built to win-now."

But Cho is in charge and hired the guy. If Cho the Great made the call and approves, how could it be wrong?
