Charlotte Bobcats sit guard Gary Neal over undisclosed "internal team matter"
The Charlotte Bobcats chose not to play recently-acquired shooting guard Gary Neal Wednesday in a road game against the Washington Wizards, saying only this was “an internal team matter.”
Neal, who arrived from Milwaukee along with point guard Luke Ridnour at the trade deadline, was coming off his best game as a Bobcat. He made seven of nine shots (including 3-of-3 from 3-point range) for 19 points in Monday’s home victory over the Denver Nuggets.
Neal was in uniform for Wednesday’s game and sat on the Bobcats’ bench, interacting with teammates. He put up shots in pre-game warmups, so perhaps whatever caused the coaches not to play him was conveyed to him just before tipoff.
Neal has said how fortunate he was to be traded from Milwaukee to Charlotte, where he’d have a bigger role on a team pursuing a playoff spot. Acquiring him addressed one of coach Steve Clifford’s season-long concerns – a lack of reliable distance shooting.

Not Good at all, I hope he is not a head case, don't need that in our locker room

He must have been late to shoot around or missed it entirely ?

Should have traded with Golden State and Got Marathon Brooks and Kent Brazermore, or should have just kept Ramon Sessions

Good thing they abandoned the "plan". MKG, the number 2 pick, plays 30 minutes and has one of his best games of the year. They are solidifying their playoff position and won another big game. Actually that would be the embodiment of the "plan". Man are people ignorant.

Great win tonight against the Wizards. It would be great to get the 6th seed and play the Raptors in the 1st round.

Marcus - Agreed. It would be much more fun to face the Raptors and then possibly get the Heat in the 2nd round than face the Heat in the 1st round.
As for Neal, hopefully he learns that he is held accountable when he makes mistakes and this won't be recurring.

It's already "recurring" fellas, he had problems at his last stop as well. At least with Gordon gone we only have one malcontent at a time...
Prior to tonight MKG average 20 minutes/per in the last 8 games.
Neal has averaged 25 mins/per the last 8 games.
With Neal out there were extra minutes to go around and MKG picked some of them up but under normal circumstances he sits on the bench for almost 60% of the game -- not a sign of an "elite" player.

Sorry to break it to you. The Bobcats aren't making the second round no matter which team they face. The only thing the Raptors offer is a small chance to make it.
