Anderson has mileage, too

With Denver’s release of running back Mike Anderson, there’s been some speculation the Panthers might show interest.

That might happen. But keep in mind Anderson is six months older than Stephen Davis, the running back the Panthers released last week.

It’s true Anderson’s career got a late start, but he’s carrying some mileage and the Panthers will be leery of paying substantial money to a running back like that.

The Panthers will add a running back at some point as insurance for DeShaun Foster and Eric Shelton because recent seasons have shown the need for depth at that position. If Anderson stays on the market for a while, his price tag could drop and that’s when the Panthers might get involved.
