Rain gives Cats a break

The Panthers got an unexpected break from voluntary workouts today.

Due to Wednesday morning's heavy rain, coach John Fox took his team out on the field for only an abbreviated practice session. Players spent most of the rest of the time in weightlifting sessions.

That means the Panthers are just about done until training camp starts in late July. They'll return Thursday for what's likely to be the final day of voluntary workouts. They're scheduled to practice through next week, but Fox traditionally knocks off the final week if he's happy with the team's performance the first three weeks. All indications are Fox is happy and will let the players start their vacations after Thursday's workout.
