Panthers' playing surface voted among best

Once again, the playing field at Bank of America Stadium has been voted one of the best in the NFL.

The field the Panthers play on finished second in a survey of players, released Thursday by the NFL Players Association, that rated the league’s best grass surfaces. Only Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium was rated higher. New England’s Gillette Stadium was voted the worst grass surface and Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field was second worst.

Seattle’s Qwest Field was the top-ranked artificial surface. Giants Stadium was voted the worst artificial surface.

Carolina’s stadium consistently has ranked in the top 10 since it opened in 1996.

Anybody remember that game a few years back against the Packers, though? The turf was coming up in chunks the size of Jenks! More importantly, that was the day of Dan Morgan's first injury, and, even worse, the start of things to come.

The Dolphin Stadium playing surface held up incredibly well in the Superbowl. Even with all that rain, the surface was in good shape after the game.

Yeah. Great. Now if only we could find a team worthy of playing on it...

Ground breaking stuff, Pat.... Love the coverage. How about the performances of the Carolina players in the Pro Bowl...or whether any of the other pro bowlers might be joining the Panthers next year.

Pat....Please write about the actual Panthers. The only people that care about the playing surface are landscapers.

Yes, the playing surface was great for putting.

Are you still on the payroll at the Charlotte Observer? This blog hasn't been updated in 13 days. What's the point of running a blog if it only get's updated once every 2 weeks. The observer's coverage of the Panthers is terrible. Let me know when you guys decide to become a real online publication. Until then, I guess I'll just have to assume there is absolutely no news or GOOD analysis related to the Panthers. What a joke.

...ummm... so... can we trade that in for a #1 pick or a first round playoff bye or something????...
