Hangartner forgot about spin move

Even after the long weekend off, some of the Panthers were still talking about offensive lineman Geoff Hangartner's 10-yard kickoff return against Arizona. Today, Hangartner got a chance to respond.

Told about guard Mike Wahle's comment that the linemen had offered Hangartner $100 each if he would do a spin move when he got his chance, he rolled his eyes.

"You get the ball, you see all those guys running down and you're like, 'Aw, damn, where am I supposed to run,'" Hangartner said. "And the spin move kind of leaves the mind pretty quick. It's like, cover up the ball, don't lose the ball, and that's about the only thing you're thinking."

Hangartner was told that Wahle's locker room imitation of his return last week included mincing little baby steps, and he grinned.

"I want to see him get the ball with ten guys running at him and the kicker, you know? We'll see what he does with it. I want to see him (run over) somebody and take it to the house. I dont see it happening.

"It's easy to talk; it was easy for me to talk about the spin move until I actually got the ball. Then that was just out the window." -- Stan Olson

"10 guys...and the kicker..." This confirms what I've heard about the team's lack of respect for the kickers.

That's an interesting notion, Doug. Surely, though, your thoughts can't be based upon previous "gaames" played between the Panthers and the Colts. Despite the fact that we've never actually even played them in Charlotte, we're 3-0 against them, and Peyton Manning has a FANTASTIC 1:1 TD:INT ratio. If you weren't so stupid, I'd waste more time proving you wrong, but since you are, I'll just let it pass.

Thank you Michael Procton, took the words right out of my mouth...

I second that notion... DOUG is stupid..

im not saying the panthers will win but they have a chance based on history, and a healthy Carr or Vinny or Combo? and deangelo running attack.. and our 'D' poised to beat one of the 2 remaining undefeateds?

i am glad the colts won.. that will make this game more enjoyable to watch.

may wind up to a last second fieldgoal by Vinatieri or Kasey... i hope its Kasey :)

Brilliant! Doug's ability to turn the conversation on a dime shows him to be an intellectual light to the nations!

Just look -- you might THINK this is Stan Olsen writing about a pretty funny back-and-forth between two Panthers offensive linemen, whose increasing fortitude has played a big reason in our turn around from that awful game with the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay. BUT LOOK! Doug sees, with his blinding wit, that this is actually about BUTTHOLES! Yes! Buttholes! And that it clearly is relevant to show up and comment that the Colts are a superior team, and will defeat the Panthers by historic margins!

You see, THAT'S what Stan was talking about all along. Buttholes and the Colts. Doug, by your luminescence, I have seen what I could not! HOW EVER CAN I THANK YOU?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
