Vinny overthrows Panthers

Stat of the week (or maybe the year): In their first 12 seasons, the Carolina Panthers attempted 6,229 passes. You can add the 150 passes they have thrown this year.

Either way, new quarterback Vinny Testaverde has thrown more career passes than the franchise. Testaverde has attempted 6,529 passes since starting his NFL career in 1987.

Damn, I thought I was the emergency quarterback, I was ready for the new direction in my career. I guess the organization just doesnt trust my all around skills as an athlete.

We get it.

He's old.

We got it when you wrote that he's older than you, Pat.

That's more stunning than him passing more than the Panthers franchise.

And, in the Panthers' defense...they might have thrown more passes if their "best WRs in franchise history" list didn't go like:

#1 Steve Smith
#2
#3
#4 Rae Carruth

I am still waiting by the phone.

Darn, it edited it out.

#2 (player let go due to inept front office)
#3 (player let go due to inept front office)

This is one instance where I would agree with the Panthers' front office.

50 year old blind QB > you, Mr. Weinke

Keep waiting by that phone.

For such a Panther hater, you certainly are on these blogs an enormous amount of time, Will. You come across as someone who has a plethora of mental defects. Hope that is not the case. But it sure looks that way. Get some help, sir.

Posted by: David I | Oct 10, 2007 4:34:05 PM

Calling a team that's won more than they lost in only 3 of 12 seasons a "winning organization" would be a sign of a mental defect to me, but what do I know? I'm just an intelligent observer and not a brainwashed redneck.

Posted by: Will | Oct 10, 2007 4:40:21 PM

I wouldnt call this franchise a 'winning franchise' but in the Fox era they have had a winning record, one superbowl appearance and two nfc champ games; that is alot more that MOST teams in the nfl can say over the past five seasons.

Posted by: mattdaddy | Oct 10, 2007 5:54:29 PM

Will you are a Redneck.Flat out no denying it,your post say it for you even if you wont.

Posted by: WillHas4LipsNbleeds4sevenDays | Oct 10, 2007 6:02:04 PM

Will! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU???!! No masturbating while you're restrained!

Posted by: Will's Dad | Oct 10, 2007 6:11:01 PM

mattdaddy is right this is the Fox era and we should enjoy it and be positive. Not negative. There are only 2 teams that fit most of you guys standards in the NFL, Patriots and Colts.(2 out of 32 teams) The main goal for us is to win the division, no matter the record. Plain and Simple

Posted by: joe | Oct 10, 2007 9:11:29 PM

I feel we've been terribly inconsistent all throughout Fox's tenure....but it sure beats the pre-Fox era. Its maddening to watch a team with so much talent play as if theyre all rookies. This year we have 3 wins based on schedule, period. Losing Jake doesnt help that of course....but i still feel, or maybe its hope that this team can play to its ability.

Go back and look at will's posts. They all talk about rednecks. Will grew up in a trailor park. His mommy was or is trailor trash. His daddy left home after he was born. It makes him feel good to put down rednecks.

OR

He works PR for Bobcat Johnson of BET (Black Every Time). The Robertcats are so desperate for a few season ticket holders, that Bobcat Johnson has hired him to persuade Panther fans to turn into Robertcat fans.

I wish everyone would jsut ignore the guy and talk about what the post is for to start with?....if u wanna be gay go do it somewhere else...newayz to my point...I dont see why everyone isnt liking testaverde...hes been a real consistan player and right now in our situation thats what we need...hes kinda like an older jake...point is...idc if we had peyton manning..no QB is anything without protection...give him protection...he'll give you in return firstdowns and TD's

Hey Will, here's a copy of the email I sent to the Charlotte Obseverer executives. Frankly, I hope all racist people like you choke on your own hatred...

I enjoy reading the Charlotte Observer posts online about the Carolina Panthers to my daughter and two sons. I also enjoy reading some of the responses. However, I am completely offended by a post written by a person by the name of will. Will is a racist that is insulting the public on your website. He does this on a regular basis. I had to explain to my 9-year-old daughter how some white people and black people don't like each other and call each other names. She was very offended by this and I was completely embarassed by the conversation and by Will's comments. I have enclosed a word document in rich text format so you can see for yourself.
If at all possible, please place restrictions on Will's ability to post things on a public site. If this can not be done, please let me know where he resides so I can start a civil suit against him. I would greatly appreciate your efforts to resolve this problem as soon as possible.

Hey SYRPIS, here's a copy of the email I sent to the Charlotte Obseverer executives.

I don't especially enjoy reading the Charlotte Observer posts online, but it does entertain me how many delusional rednecks the Panthers have managed to brainwash into thinking they are a "winning organization." Winning organizations win more than they lose, don't they? But back to the point. I am completely offended by a person of the name SYRPIS. No, I'm not offended that he still uses AOL. I'm offended because he spammed the same message over and over and over and over in your blogs, calling me a racist more times than I called him and his ilk rednecks. I was going to send you all a rich text format word document of his posts, but I'm not stupid enough to think you can't go onto your own website and read them yourselves. If at all possible, please place restrictions on SYRPIS ability to post things on a public site. If this can not be done, please let me know which trailer park he resides so I can start a civil suit against him for contributing to the negligence of a minor. Bringing a 9 year old into the suffering and disappointment that is the Carolina Panthers? What kind of sick freak is he?!?!

Posted by: Will | Oct 11, 2007 12:03:14 AM

I will be your linebacker to help you guys out.

Posted by: Brian Urlacher | Oct 11, 2007 12:56:52 AM

I would've much rather the Panthers go after a much more mobile QB since the offensive line isn't that stout. Although it would help if one was available, but I am interested in seeing what Vinny can do cause Carr hasn't impressed me at all. I thought that he would've been a better fit that he has been thus far.

Me too, I don't like my team (Bears) this year.

Posted by: Lance Briggs | Oct 11, 2007 1:01:47 AM

Hey Panthers! Can I come back, please? I miss the Panthers. I regressed since I joined the Bears. I promise to progress here.

Posted by: Muhsin Muhammad | Oct 11, 2007 1:03:16 AM

Can I come to Carolina? I'm divorcing the Bears. I will help you win a Super Bowl.

Posted by: Rex Grossman | Oct 11, 2007 1:07:49 AM

opinions are like a** holes...everybody has one.....

Posted by: james good | Oct 11, 2007 3:58:59 AM

You all are too good to be joining the Panthers.

Well, maybe not Rex Grossman. He seems like a guy the Panthers would absolutely LOVE.

Posted by: Will | Oct 11, 2007 6:24:40 AM

We have decided to make up. We now live together and promote gay marriage rights. More importantly, we believe Vinny Testerverde was a good pick-up, especially given the situation. Please contact the Observer to promote our cause. Thank you sweeties. And remember, regardless of what happens at Arizona, we still have a great team because we made a Superbowl appearance 3 years ago. And that should forever remain in your heart. How dare you bash my Panthers when they are trying their little hearts out, especially on the D-line. Julius Peppers contributed to this report.
