Naming names a sign of pressure?
Kind of interesting that John Fox named the two culprits on the pooch punt play. Singling out players for mistakes is something Fox has avoided since early in his tenure when he said Muhsin Muhammad had stopped his route on a play that led to an interception.
Could this be a sign of a coach, who knows he's on the hot seat, trying to cover his tail? Maybe, but this was in no way as dramatic as the Muhammad incident. Jeff King, who wasn't on the field and left the Panthers a man short, already was outed as one of the culprits because replays clearly showed that King was the one man not with the field goal team, who was on the unit when the Panthers actually did attempt a field goal. It would have been hard for Fox to cover over this one. But if he really wanted to out the players, he could have done so Sunday, and he didn't.
Fox did give up Jason Baker's name Monday, but that was in direct response to a question about who's responsible for counting the players on the field. It's pretty well-known around the league that the holder is the guy responsible for doing the counting.

HAHA, come on, Pat. You guys always gripe that Foxy holds information too close to the vest and is a boring interview. He throws a few bones your way and ya through the guy under the bus. Weak.

The word CHARACTER comes to mind, and John Fox has shown a lot of it over the years. But this year's team has shown very little of it. He knows it and he's shown the fans that he knows it.
This may be his way of showing the players he knows it!

Just like the gaffe at Minnesota last year. This coaching staff has no idea how to win. Instead of trying to catch the Packers off-guard, try running a fake punt to pick up the first down. Try doing SOMETHING that wins the game. So you pooched the punt and put the Packers on the 5 yard line, big deal, one wiffed tackle by Chris Gamble and the Packers are on the 30.

I can't even complain about the Pantehrs anymore!! Much less watch them....i can't wait for the offseason and the upcoming changes. I got really excited hearing about Davidson as the coordinator, but still teh same types of plays. Nothing has changed. Every week borring football with a lopsided loss and no ESPN highlights.

after that game that Fox called Moose out by name, didnt they win their next 4 or 5? If so, this may be something he should do more often.

You guys at media has made a big deal out of pooch punt. Panthers lost by more than 7 points they gave up on pooch punt. you guys should have asked FOX other questions like;
Are you gonna start MOORE next week?
Are you gonna be more aggresive in play calling?
Are you gonna blitz more often?
Are you gonna open up play book (If there is any....seems to me they just have couple of pages woth of plays).
I bet there are buch of other questions you guys should have asked FOX.

King has been making a lot of mistakes lately. He has had several false starts. Nice hands but mentally not in it at times!

Why don't you hacks just tie the guy up and torture him while your at it. You've been hounding him all over the place... claiming that he is on the hot seat since day one!!! Players know that, Fox knows that, and Cowher's agent was the first to know it was coming, I'm sure! Just keep this in mind Yasinksaniskaluski.... what goes around comes around.

Matt-dad and dumbass Slurpis, get off that stupid historical data you freak and get a life. I hate that shit. Retards like you need to disappear.

SC, get a clue. If we aren't commenting on historical facts than what are we commenting on? Thank goodness all those teacher certification reform programs and the "Educational" lottery have paid off for you people.

SC, all we have to go on is historical date, whether it be last game, last seasn, or Fox's entire tenure here,

You try to look over a lot of things and chalk them up to "Oops" and "We dropped the ball on that one". But soon or later you have to take the blame for why the same mistakes are happening over and over again and then hold the culprits responsible. I love Fox as a coach but the passive attitude has to do just that and "passive" away. Coincidentally, Cower will come back from "vacation".

A simple question. Why does Fox not take responsibility for the mistakes on plays he is calling? The players can only execute the bad calls. Why does he wait half the season to try other players? His time should be up to move on. Carolina Panthers fans deserve a better coaching combine and it starts at the top.
