Jarrett out for Sunday

Rookie wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett will miss Sunday's game in Jacksonville with a sprained right knee. Jarrett had an MRI on Thursday afternoon. It showed no tear and surgery is not being considered at this point. Running back DeShaun Foster (head), safety Chris Harris (shoulder) and linebacker Na'il Diggs took part in Friday's practice and are listed as probable for Sunday. -- PAT YASINSKAS

I hope this isn't another Eric Shelton situation.

Man, I sure am glad we cut Keyshawn! He would have been a great mentor for Jarrett. He could have taught him a thing or 2 about toughness and how to SUCK IT UP!

Isn't Jarrett out every Sunday?

What did Henning have to do with the 2007 Draft, "LearnhowtodraftHenning" ?

Just wondering...

Good riddance to Meshawn, Jarrett and any other self-centered black hole that exists in the NFL. BTW, I still believe Smith is teetering on falling back onto that list! I'll take good character over team wrecker any day!!!

The great thing about Colbert is that he is nothing but team... unfortunately, he is nothing but fear tooo (can't hang onto the ball)!! Carter did make the claim that he would do anything the team asked, including special teams (recanting a previous statement that suggested that he wouldn't) but I have not seen any production in that department from him yet! Are there any selfless receivers on this roster at all??

Put Marshall in at WR!! That guy is nothing but blunt guts and fire!!! Heck, split Rasorio into the slot and cut him loose! For that matter, why stop at a 44-year-old QB? Bring back Proel for crying out loud!!!!!

Syrpis:

Thats the problem with the Panthers they got to damm many good guys & thats not going to win game in the NFL.I don't mean to get thugs like Pac man Jones. But someone like Ronnie Harrison & Shawn Merriman that play with a chip on there shoulder every Sunday not every Blue moon Like Peppers. This team don't have heart & the right talent to fix Coach Fox system.

T.O. and Moss have all been labeled as "team wreckers" and not character guys and just look at the success they are having, and to Keyshawns credit, he did win a super bowl.

Posted by: m | Dec 8, 2007 10:17:19 AM

Who the hell is Ronnie Harrison?

Posted by: Michael Procton | Dec 8, 2007 10:22:58 AM

In spite of all their incredible talent, how many Super Bowls have Moss or Owens won?

Posted by: Michael Procton | Dec 8, 2007 10:24:05 AM

No one said they have won any Super Bowls. Keyshawn is the guy with the ring, and it would be a safe bet that either Moss or Owens ends up with one this year. The point being, having good 'character, team guys' can be a good thing, but it is not a prerequisite (thanks tiki) for success.

Dont question Jarrett's toughness... Its just ignorant to think that injury reports are fully accurate- he would play if he could, no question- the guy even holds onto the ball after being knocked unconscious... He's a gamer, hes not afraid to take a hit, and once the panthers get a decent quarterback, youll all see that.

Umm...if a decent quarterback throws a good ball to the place where Jarrett was supposed to be had he run the right route, what does that have to do with his toughness.

Keep blaiming the QB all you want, but when the entire team quits, it doesn't matter. This team has quit, I am convinced of that. Tom brady wouldn't have fared much better when the O-line can't pass cover for more than 1 second. This team is garbage only b/c the entire team has quit b/c the entire coaching staff sucks and they too know it.

And another thing, I am sick of hearing that we have to find a way to get Steve Smith the ball. That is the reason why Carolina struggles. They try everything to get him the damn ball instead of EMPHASIZING the best available option. Call me crazy, but at times I think this team would be better off without his egotistical game. He is a very good reciever, got it, but when a team revolves an entire offense around ONE GUY or tries to which is almost the same, is the very reason the offense can do nothing. And the reason Fox continues this is b/c he has no back bone and is punked by Steve Smith. Do you really think Jarret, Colbert, Carter and whoever else you want to throw in there all stink? You think they could be a product of a system that only caters and schemes to Mr. Smith. And if by some chance we can't get the ball to Steve, and the QB is not sacked, you will get the ball thrown in your area if it's not thrown away. I don't know this for sure, but I would be willing to bet that those other receivers are probably by design, hardly ever a #1 option.
