Maybe this will help him get his act together

Now we know why he sucked so bad last year. Too much party time and not enough practice time. It is hard to run a lot and catch passes and study when you are drunk or hung over. Koren Robinson had the same problem when he was with Seattle and it took him years and several suspensions to get a grip on his demons. We may be looking at a similar situation here.

Way to get on this two hours after Steve Reed AND profootballtalk.com, guys.

It looks like he is learning from Muhammed already, but just because he had one night of whatever doesnt put him in the same boat as Koren Robinson.

Everyone has made mistakes hear and there, just be glad he didnt pull a Carruth. This isnt the end of the world, or even that big a deal.Im sure J.r. will have a talk with him he will pay a small fine and then do some extra Community Service that the Panthers set up so well.

Some people kill me, already degrading the the guy because he was arrested. Just because you are a pro athlete does not mean you cant make a mistake. They are human like the rest of us. You cant tell me that you, a human being has never made a mistake in your life. The guy is 21 yrs old, believe me he'll make alot more mistakes in his life. Don't ostracise him for one! Some people just are jealous becuase they are not a pro athlete.

I want to remind people that in the court of law people are innocent until proven guilty. With that said, I hope however this turns out for him that this is a wake up call. You have the opportunity of a lifetime to play sports for a job. Make the most of it, because there are alot of fans that dream to be in your shoes.

I agree with JV.....Damn Dwayne!!! C'mon now, get your act together. Look at Pacman Jones, you want to end up like that or would you rather end up like Larry Fitzgerald that just signed a 4yr/$40million contract extension today with the Cardinals. You are at a crossroads Dwayne in your life. It's your call!!!!

I'm not a "pro athlete", but I've never been arrested for drinking and driving. Why? Because I'm not a moron. I have enough sense to call a cab after more than a couple of drinks. I had that much sense when I was twenty-one, too. I guess it's no big deal that he endangered other drivers in our community, huh? What's dumber than a rich athlete being too cheap and arrogant to call a taxi? Uneducated homers defending him. Hopefully the Panthers will demonstrate some modicum of integrity and cut this loser.

And Cheerman23, unless I get called in for jury duty, I'm really not interested in a court of law.

I will have to agree on the point that these athletes can be very egotistical at times. Why if you are paid millions or even six figures will you not call a cab to take you home when you have been drinking? Or have a friend drive you or a chauffeur. It is pure arrogance that lets them think either they won't get pulled over or do not care. I can sympathize a little because I'm sure we've all had nights where we thought we could drive after drinking..but if you have the money and you can't afford the publicity why even try.

Ya'll need to chill out with all the Koren Robinson stuff. He doesn't have anything to do with this. People drink and drive everyday. It doesn't make it rite but it is what it is. Would you make a big deal about it if Jarrett wasn't a professional football player? No. He is two years removed from college and is making big money and that is hard for some young players to deal with. That is the same reason why the NFL holds forums for younger players to give advice on how to handle that money and fame. It was a mistake alot of people make, drinking and driving. Jarrett, like Koren, is human stop passing judgements on people's character and you don't know them. I know Koren and he is a good person who made few bad decisions. That's life!

The kid sounds like he needs a role model! Who will step up ?

drunk bastard!!

WOW! What judgement yall pass. A 21 year old kid made a mistake that millions have made in their lives. In addition he was just charged, not convicted. A persons true character is shown in how they deal with adversity and overcome it, not the fact they made a mistake. Most people who bash those who have been caught making a mistake are more than likely guilty of the same or worse at some point in their lives. Just my experience.
