Panthers' draft order
The Panthers will have four of the first 74 picks in the NFL draft, according to the league's recently-released draft order.
After picking 13th in Round 1, the Panthers will have the 12th pick in the second round, No. 43 overall. Normally, that would be the 44th pick, but Carolina moves up one spot higher because New England was stripped of its first-rounder (No. 31) due to the Spygate controversy.
In the third round, Carolina has the fourth pick (67th) it obtained from the New York Jets in the Kris Jenkins trade and the 11th choice (74th).
Having two of the first 11 picks in Round 3 puts the Panthers in good position to either pick up a couple of quality players or to have the flexibility to make a trade up in the first two rounds.
The draft is scheduled to be held April 26-27.

Additionally, the Panthers stand to get at least one (and maybe two) seventh-rounders as supplemental picks for Chris Draft and Vinny Ciurciu. In terms of value, those two third-rounders would be about enough to move up to around our current second-round pick.

Thank you Captain Obvious, it's amazing how you two keep your jobs.

Hey i think we can all figure out what picks they have. Why not telling us the inside information of who they are looking to get.

The full draft order just came out, guys...this is new information. The picks don't come in the same order as the first round all the way through.

What is truly amazing is how people that take the time to be critical dicks can't take the time to do a grammar or spell check.

Can't we all just get along?

To Charlotte Disturber and Bob; I did not know what picks we had in the 2nd and 3rd round, and I doubt you did either. Either way, thanks for posting this Charles. I think I speak for most when I say I am always glad to have new things to read about the Panthers.

True to that let's just hope all four will be great picks or even great steals.

Is it just me or does the picture of Charles and Stan look like a time lapse photograph of someone aging 30 years?

"Hmmm" it's just you! And I second Daniel's sentiment. I always look forward to the extra tidbits you guys have to offer, even if I don't always post comments. Thanks for the updates, and for putting up with these other degenerates who think that the way they are acting is cool.

Daniel, some of us actually keep up with the team and knew we got the Jet's 3rd and 5th. I was also aware of when they picked, add to that the assumption that everyone knows the Pats surrendered their second, first round pick and the rest should fall in line. It's not rocket science, so when it comes to ignorance please speak only for yourself.

Some people just can't be happy, as much as you guys are online maybe you should put in a resume for the Observer.

Sounds like Charlotte Disturber went to chapel hill and has something up his back side.

Some people in this world don't know it all like some of you clowns! Lighten up! Football is supposed to be fun, some of ya'll are getting your underwear all bunched up over...what? A article about the draft sequence....that is funny!

Frankly, it's not, CD...the NFL swaps up the order of every round to even up the ties.

Hey Fan, what does going to chapel hill have to do with anything? Funny people always try to say Chapel Hill has an “elitist attitude” well if they did I can see why. People are always comparing themselves to UNC! I guess that makes them the standard. Now back to pro football. I love the panthers, love their moves, and I can’t wait to see the adjustments and the return of Jake (who I am not completely sold on) and smitty connect.
And hey if you can’t go to college go to….Well you know the rest!

Anyone who follows the NFL, or just the draft, have known what the order of the picks through all seven rounds were going to be since the Super Bowl ended. The only question was to picks 3,4 and 5, which were decided by a coin flip at the combine. I don't know why you wrote this and make people think its news.

Don't worry I can take a punch for you all can dish them out, but can you take one. Aparetly your parents did not diapline you properly. Don't worry to much the Lord ower God will!
I have to agree with Keven, I love this teem that Mr.Richerson has bilt for this city. So embrace this teem, the way God has embraced, me and thay will go all the way.

It just blows me away that you could have that many spelling errors in one post Darwood. I for one appreciate the post, so those of you who claim you already knew it then good for you. There were some people who didn't.

How about we talk about who we could get with all of these picks. Where would it put us this year as far as record and so on.

Hangman, you're totally wrong. The order is switched every round to even out the tied records. It doesn't follow the order of the first throughout.
Posted by: Michael Procton | Mar 11, 2008 2:47:10 PM
I must be stupid but when are our picks in the 4th thru 7th rounds. I'm guessing due to trades etc. they are not just the 13th pick in each round. Who knows?
