Panthers raising ticket prices
The Panthers are raising ticket prices by approximately 4.5 percent next season, according to team spokesman Charlie Dayton.
Dayton said ticket invoices to PSL holders have been mailed.
The Panthers are coming off a disappointing 7-9 season. They did not raise prices last year.
Dayton said the Panthers' average ticket price still ranks in the bottom half of the NFL.

When you amortize the PSL cost their statemment is Bogus. Jerry has the PSL owners by the balls.

isn't it standard procedure for teams to raise ticket prices every year or every other year?

What a bunch of crap. You can't average us w/ large market teams because...DUH...we're not in a large market. They skew the crap outta those numbers to fit their agenda. Plan & simple...staduim gets multi-million dollars worth of improvements...ticket prices go up. Fans don't come to see the "pretty" stadium...they come to see their team kick the snot outta someone. As bad as we've been at home over the last 2 years and they raise prices? That's crap. I love the Panthers but that's crap.

I guess so, they've got to reward Peppers for his 3 sacks in the upcoming 2008 season.

Ticket prices are to high already, if anything they need to lower them by 4.5 percent and apologize to the public for last season.

They got to pay for those scoreboards and upgrades to the luxury boxes somehow. Anyone ever notice how the luxury box owners are constantly having the boxes upgraded and more and more amenities added, all the while the true fans pay the bulk of the increases?
Panthers do not care about the real fans, the ones that support the team through good in bad, all they care about it the almighty DOLLAR and they are pricing their loyal fans out, and if you think about it, they really don't care!

Funny, I am a new PSL owner as of last July and I have not received 'such' letter. They sucked last year and now I'm stuck. Way to go guys.

I agree it sucks, but it's just a reality. Most if not all teams across the league raise ticket prices almost every year. You figure it in with the cost of upkeep at the stadium and the general economic conditions it's a necessity. I saw the SF 49ers are raising their ticket prices again and they've been far worse this decade.

Charlie Dayton can just go ahead and lick my balls. This is Jerry's little puppet boy that ran Bill Rosinski out of town. Sounds to me that basically his job is to be Jerry's little bitch, f things up and piss people off with news like this.
Charlie you can talk all day about how ticket prices are in the lower half of the league, but so is this sorry product you are putting out on the field that we are paying to see. I won't even get into how you the cost of living in Charlotte is much lower than most of the cities you are comparing, so ticket prices SHOULD be lower too.

For us to almost go more than a year without a home win is pathetic, especially the way we played in those first 3 or 4 home games this season. It's unacceptable. If they continue to raise tickets and continue to lay down and give the same half-ass (excuse my french) effort at home as they did a hand full of games last year, I hope the stadium looks like the 2001 Patriot home game for the rest of the season.

Quit your whining your broke ass poor little bitches. Go out and get a job or live off your dad's success like me and you can afford the ticket price increase.

"Dayton said the Panthers' average ticket price still ranks in the bottom half of the NFL."
Yup, and based on last year's record... so is the team.

IMO Panther's games have just become a waste of money anyway... getting up on a Saturday to hit refresh on Ticketmaster, only to realize that I'll be paying $60 - $80 for nosebleeds. On top of that, you're usually surrounded by drunk jerks who smoke, cuss, and generally just annoy you, while shelling out too much money for food and drinks only to carry them back up the stairways that seem to go into the clouds...
Throw on top they can't win at home and the crowd atmosphere is mediocre at best...yeah I think a 4.5 increase sounds just about right...

Yeah, JT...that's why people have been bitching about the video boards non-stop for the last five years.

What makes me laugh is when they claim they are in the bottom half of the NFL as far as ticket prices. I agree, but look at who they are comparing themselves to and look at the average income of those cities. $100 for a ticket in Charlotte is alot more of someones income than $100 for a ticket in NY or SF.
By the way anyone remember the news story about a month ago when they interviewed Jon Richardson on camera about the scoreboards and flat out asked him if ticket prices would go up, and he said not this year? Just another example of the lying Richardson's, they are pieces of lying garbage in my opinion. BTW, for those who want to defend Jerry, if Jerry cared about the fans he would have said NO to an increase. Screw the Panthers, they and the Richardson's are as bad as Bob Johnson and the Bobcats, only difference is Johnson is LOWERING ticket prices not raising them.

By the way people, Phil Youtsey is just as much a loser as Charlie Dayton. In fact, I would say Youtsey is even more of a puppet and a behind kissing YES MAN than even Dayton.

We must have spent some money! Did we get Randy Moss? Turner? big screen tv's

P.S.L. Could this mean POOR SUCKER LOSERS?
Remember blood runs thicker than water. Big Jerry calls ALL the shots.PSL`rs either suck it up or choke on the rising prices. Lotsa PSL`s out there for sale! I have ZERO interest in buying!

I also like the political double talk from Richardson who said on February 20, JUST THREE WEEKS AGO:
We asked Richardson if we will see an increase in ticket prices. He says he doesn't expect any kind of jump in ticket prices to cover construction costs.
Wow, I guess alot changed in only 3 weeks. Just more proof what liars the Richardson's are.

Hey Charlie Dayton, our ticket prices probably rank in the bottom half of the NFL because our team for the past 3 years has been consistantly ranked in the bottom half of the NFL. Sounds like we are pretty balanced in that regard.
Fire John Fox and Marty Hurney and get a real team in here, then raise prices. I guarantee no one will complain when we actually having a winning home record!

The bad thing about PSL's are you are boned once you buy them. If they decided to triple the prices you are forced to pay it. I bought PSL's in 2002 and sold them in 2007 because I got tired of the lies and got tired of the BS people like Phil Youtsey spewed out. The only saving grace is my $8,000 investment in 2002 netted me $22,000 in 2007.
For those of you who think the Richardson's care about the fans, wake up. They are building yet another PRIVATE SUITE for high rollers and the little guy fan is paying the cost. If you own a PSL you are at Money Hungry Richardson's beck and call and it is only going to get worse.
