Panthers Add DT Ian Scott
The Panthers just announced the signing of not only DT Darwin Walker,
which was expected, but also DT Ian Scott, whom they had had
discussions with in the past. Scott, who is 6-foot-6 and 302 pounds,
played in 49 games with 33 starts with the Chicago Bears
from 2003 to 2006. He was signed as an unrestricted free agent by
Philadelphia last year, but was placed on injured reserve before the
of the season with a knee injury.
Seems like they're bringing back the homeboys; Scott is from
Greenville, S.C., while Walker is from Walterboro, S.C.--STAN OLSON

Depth and competition at an area of need. Smart move by Hurney, who's really been on his game this offseason.

Intersting: Walker was with the Eagles and signed with the Bears last year but didn't play much due to injury. Scott played with the Bears and signed with the Eagles last year but didn't play much due to injury.
Now they are together and can hopefully put their injuries behind them and be solid contributors for the front line.
Very good move. Every single need was met this offseason (on paper, anyway). This team is MUCH better right now than it was at the end of the season. If Jake is healthy, which I think he will be, LOOK OUT!

Great experienced players to battle for the open DT position. If one gets hurt at least he have reliable back ups now. It will be fun to watch these guys fight for the starting spot along with the rest.

These guys are coming from teams that have good DL. I am excited about what we have done this season. I just hope that we stay healthy. We look damn good on paper.

AS far as the "on paper" comment... it is difficult to get a team to produce when its fans are booing it. We support our team... especially when things are not working out exactly the way we hoped for!

The Panthers are one of the toughest teams as it comes to physicals, so if both Walker and Scott passed theirs, they must be ready to go. If they are both healthy, we just got better. As always GO CATS!

I am tired of all you cry baby's talking about what we gave up in the draft all we gave up was the 2nd pick and the 4th pick.Next years 1st if that is what it takes to win YOU DO IT!!!I do beleive John Fox and the GM Went to the Super Bowl and a Championship game I don't think any other coach has took our team that far..John Fox and the GM are the best coach in the NFL and IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!!!Carolina would be Stupid!! if they let John Fox go and Carolina Panthers GM go!!! Let the Coach and the GM do there job and you all need to stop crying...Have you all forgot where John Fox brought this team from? let me remind you..1-15 Season I think he knows how to coach so get off the mans back and let him do his JOB!!!(Bill Coward)..He did not win the Super bowl the ref's gave it to him!!!We don't want him at Carolina he can go back To Penn.... where he belongs!!!..and that goes for all other coaches..JOHN FOX IS HERE TO STAY!!!!
