Beason's ankle injury was minor ("tweaked" acccording to John Fox). He was back at practice Monday night.

Perhaps the only good thing that will come from Steve's suspension is that Jason Carter seems primed to make the team. He has been making plays all over, and pretty much from the day one.
Beason hurt his ankle? Someone please give an update

Generalities have been spawned consequently, not by spontaneous combustion, but through observations. As a matter of fact, the face of this planet has been changed by mankind's ability to observe and analyze patterns. I may have started the wife-beating comment, and I did so because of patterns. NFL players go from a great high to overnight (what seems like to them) nothingness. They go home to families that are not used to having them around all the time and therefore treat them like they are invading their space (in their very own homes). Life after the NFL is very hard to cope with, especially for someone who thrives on it like Steve Smith does. You couple that with the fact that he has had a rough upbrining and that could spell disaster.
This can be avoided with outside help, and it seems like he's been getting just that. But maybe he got complacent because he is on top of the world and cut off his support systems. Whatever..., that's his business. The fact is that despite having it all, he let some verbal assault turn him into a crazed madman. The end result could have ended a career (yet again). It could have changed the landscap of the Panther season, consequently costing others their career. But, the worst thing of all is the youth who already are lost in this nation look up to this man. They all aspire to be like him (I teach many myself). If they see him end a career and only get a one game or two game suspension on a regular basis (which is pretty much getting away with it) then what is American youth going to believe?
Like Lucas is saying, their is a greater purpose here and Smith's corporate scripted apology filled with rants about he will bow down to no one for any reason does not really do so much for him, his character and his personal future. These are facts that HE can be blamed for, not me or anyone else that agrees with them. And for those of you who are defending his actions, you have just as much integrity as Steve Smith does. Maybe you should stop being as impressionable as adolescents and consider the real meaining of the things you are saying.
That being said, I'm glad things are getting back to normal for the rest of the team.

On two other notes, it's great to hear about Beason! Thanks for the sidenote Mr. David Scott. Also, I'm sick of the Brett Favre media hype. When the rumors first began I felt like someone would have to be crazy to want him to be part of your team. Obviously I was wrong. As it is, you'd be crazy to want the media circus anywhere near your team.
Posted by: SYRPIS | Aug 5, 2008 10:32:44 AM
agreed Syrpis, the Pack should have just let Favre come back when this whole thing first started.

I disagree. This is year, what, four of the "will he or won't he?" saga? He's put them in a bad position with regards to personnel and salary cap decisions every year, and once he made his decision, it should have been final. That team shouldn't have to pay for his indecision.

I still have a contract procton. dumbass.
Posted by: brett favre | Aug 5, 2008 11:43:55 AM
I understand that, Bretty. Your stupid ass should have honored that contract by, I don't know, not rescinding your own status as a TEAM MEMBER for three months. I'm sure you feel great since you didn't have to come to any of the offseason workouts and you could hang out with high school kids, huh?

Syprus....It's time to move on with it. No need to drag this on when Lucas and Smith have made up, Smith has apologized. From my calculations he's supposed to be going back to anger management classes and he's been suspended. Everything that has had to be done, IS done. Just like I hope the team can move on, I hope you and other fans can move on.

i am honoring my contract and hell yes i feel good and ill whip your ass and aaron rodgers ass at the same time.

p.s. prickton, green bay paid for my "indecision" with a trip to the NFC championship game moron.
Posted by: brett favre | Aug 5, 2008 12:48:27 PM
hey procton, it sucks when youre not the smartest anymore huh?
Posted by: watchdoggin | Aug 5, 2008 12:57:56 PM
Not the smartest? Hardly. If anybody is willing to support Favre's actions, they're stupid. Taking a three-month "retirement" vacation is not honoring one's contract.
Posted by: Michael Procton | Aug 5, 2008 2:21:27 PM
Me and the Giants want him to keep the job. He threw me the SB trophy!
Posted by: Corey Webster | Aug 5, 2008 3:21:25 PM
if i violated the terms of my contract dont you think green bay would do something other than keep making a mess out of this? you my friend are the stupid one.
Posted by: brett favre | Aug 5, 2008 4:49:10 PM
Thats just Brett being Brett.

Hey SYRPIS, this message is for you. How long are you going to give your two cents on what Steve Smith did? How long is it going to take to get your hate out for him? Hopefully your done because you're annoying with it. One stupid brawl at TC in the high heat and humidity don't take away all the good Smith has done in the last 6 years, no matter how much you haters want it to. Smitty, this is one fan that has forgiven you and still believes in you. Stay Strong Smitty!

Syrpis you are a tool, I am so tired of your ridiculous posts that are 5 paragraphs long about the Steve Smith issue. It is done and over with so just shut up about it. Your annoying posts are the reason that the issue is still being brought up so let it go and talk about something more productive dealing with our team.
Posted by: JV | Aug 6, 2008 11:14:41 AM
His posts are the reason the issue is still being brought up? Wow...not like THAT'S giving a guy too much credit.
Posted by: Michael Procton | Aug 6, 2008 11:49:03 AM
It's one of the reasons it is still be brought up in general and it is the reason it was brought up in this thread, which had nothing to do with the fact. Take your pick of which one makes you feel better MP.

It one of the reasons that the issue is still being brought up in general and it is THE reason why it was brought up in this thread, which had nothing to do with it. So take your pick of whichever reason makes you happy MP.
