Answering your questions

Question: How much longer will J. Kasay play and can R. Lloyd kick field goals? Chris

Answer: I talked to John Kasay a few weeks and he said he wants play as long as he can. Although he'll be 39 in October, he's still as accurate as ever (as proven by his 4 FGs last week). I'd say he has at least a year or two left. As for Rhys Lloyd, he can kick field goals, but hasn't done it enough in the NFL to know for sure. He made 16 of 23 in NFL Europa in 2007, including two of more than 50 yards. Right now, he's all about the kickoffs. David

Question: Who are the inactives? Doug

Answer: Kicker Rhys Lloyd and tight end Dante Rosario are both active today and should play. Lloyd is practicing in pre-game warmups, so his illness seems to be under control. No surprises on the inactives list: QB Matt Moore, KR/WR Ryne Robinson, OG Travelle Wharton, DB C.J. Wilson, LB James Anderson, LB Donte Curry, OL Mackenzy Bernadeau, and DE Hilee Taylor. Charles

Question: Who got most of the work in at LG this week at practice, and who will be starting today? Also, did Gamble show any signs of slowing down from his injury this week? Syrpis

Answer: Geoff Hangartner will start today for Wharton. Gamble's well enough to play! David

Question: What are some of your predicitons stats wise and a final score? How will the RB Duo do? Kyle

Answer: The RB duo has a tough test today because the Bears have such a good defense, but there should be some nice runs. This could be a breakout day for Stewart. We'll pass on predicting stats, but here are our predictions for the final score: David, Carolina 17-14; Charles, Carolina 24-13. Charles

Question: Alot has been made about Hester returning kicks, but on our side of the ball, is Stewart penciled in as the kick returner again? Matt

Answer: Jonathan Stewart will return kicks today. Look for that to continue until Ryne Robinson returns. David

Question: Will Steve Smith punch anyone else this season? If so you think it could be Scott Fowler, I hope so. MP Maniac

Answer: I don't think it will happen again. Charles

Question: So is it safe to say that if the panthers can stop Matt Forte and make Kyle Orton beat them the Panthers will win the game and might even win by two touchdowns? John

Question: So do you think that since the Panthers stopped LaDainian Tomlinson from doing anything major and getting in the endzone last week that we will fare well against Matt Forte? Boo

Answer: I think stopping the running game is key for both teams. And if that happens for both defenses, who would you prefer to have on your side -- Kyle Orton or Jake Delhomme -- if you're forced to throw? Thought so. But Forte is more of a power back than Tomlinson, so that'll be a new look for the Panthers defense. David

Question: Will we see Julius Peppers on offense at all this season? Panthers fan

Answer: Peppers has lined up as a receiver on the goal line before, so don't surprised if it happens again. David

That's all for now ... check back after the game for our postgame analysis and to have a few questions answered.

NFL prediction: Orton scores his first TD of the season on a play-action play, distracting Godfrey, that includes a double move the Lucas jumps on.
