Connor's knee injury may be serious

Coach John Fox said the Panthers are awaiting official word on the severity of rookie linebacker Dan Connor's knee injury and should have an announcement later today.

It doesn't sound like the news will be good. Connor was injured in Sunday's 20-10 loss at Minnesota and had to be carted off the sidelines into the locker room with his leg tightly wrapped.

If it turns out Connor is out for the season, don't be surprised if the Panthers re-sign linebacker Donte' Curry, whom they released last week to make room on the roster for Steve Smith.

Why don't you see Anderson getting a chance to be moved to the active roster? The young man did everthing they asked during camp and the pre-season. He had a good camp and pre-season (2nd in tackles). It seems that everyone has written him off.

it could be worse.

Anderson is ALREADY on the roster. Curry would get the theoretical spot opened up by Connor's IR.

This sucks... Connor had high promise and was a steal for the panthers draft. I hope he is OK and can dominate the linebacker corps with Beason next year (if hes is put on IR this year)

anyone notice the high numbers of knee injuries this year? both in College and NFL everyone seems to be getting torn ACL/MCL injuries...

Dave,

I agree theres a ton of knee injuries going on both NFL and college.

They need to make something players can wear on their legs that will HELP prevent them from getting injured.
