Injury (illness) updates; plus, up, up and away

A couple of mid-day Saturday notes leading up to the Panthers' game against Chicago Sunday:

-- Two players have been added to the injury list. Kickoff specialist Rhys Lloyd and center Mackenzy Bernadeau are listed as probable with an illness. Lloyd is especially important in this game because his long kickoffs could help control Bears kick returner deluxe Devin Hester.

-- This is an especially cool fact for fans who'll be attending the game: Be sure to get there early and be in your seats before the national anthem because the Panthers have scheduled a flyover by an F-16. Should be scintillating.

-- Hope you'll join us here on the blog around 11:30 a.m. Sunday. David Scott and I will be answering your questions. Just come to the "Inside the Panthers" blog and we'll try to make instructions clear.

-- Sneak preview: We'll have an inside look at rookie running back Jonathan Stewart in Sunday's paper and online. Be sure to check it out.

Happy Saturday!

Hope Lloyd can play in the game. I sure don't want Devin Hester to have many chances to touch the ball.

I don't care what kind of illness Loyd has loyd at 70% is better on kick offs than john kasey doing it at 100%. (especially facing Hester) Worry not I promise no way he sits this game out with "illness"

If he is out and we get to have any kickoffs we should just kick them straight out of bounds. Give it to them at the 40.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

Maybe Lloyd and Hangartener are lovers.

lf lloyd is out this was a waste of a roster spot! He needs to play. This is exactly why he is on the team. Keep it away from hester!

Good god! Lloyd needs to get in the game! Keep that ball from Devin Hester!

Also, a story just broke on Fox on how Jake Delhomme is the most underappreciated Quarterback in the NFL. It's worth a read.

Rev, that's nothing new. The guy gets criticized more than any other player on the Panthers despite the fact that he shows up every Sunday to play his hardest (PEP!) and the fact that he's the 16th-rated QB in NFL history. The guy's simply a damned good QB, period. It'd be nice if just our own fanbase would recognize it.

OMG the world may end now!! I have to AGREE with Procton, well except the jab at pep.
