Panthers looking healthy for opener

Chrisharrisblog200pIt appears the Panthers will be as healthy as they've been in several weeks when they take the field Sunday in their season-opener at San Diego.

Coach John Fox said Tuesday that safety Chris Harris, who has missed three weeks with a groin injury, is expected to practice when the team returns to work Wednesday. Receiver D.J. Hackett, who's been out with a toe injury, will also practice on Wednesday.

Fox wouldn't say whether either would play against the Chargers, but don't bet against it.

Fox said he didn't anticipate the team making any more roster moves after signing kickoff/punt returner Mark Jones on Monday. Jones will fill in for Ryne Robinson, who has a knee injury and is the only Panthers player who's on the shelf now.

You shouldnt be skipping school today to post on blogs...Heaven knows you need to attend English class.

The only thing worse than a poster who cant spell, is the know-it-all who comes on here and complains about the poor spelling.

Thanks Teacher... No wonder people think NC is ranked so low in the education system. With the use of "dat" instead of "that" there is no wonder. Thank today's television and the acceptance of "gangsta" terminology... Makes them sound like uneducated idiots... ugggg...

And who are any of you to jump on here and correct peoples grammar. Not everyone speaks in perfect English. Some speak slang, some type the way they talk. "gangsta terminology?" get the F outta here with dat a.k.a. that. You dont know the quality of education each person has received, and you dont know its their fault if they have had poor instruction. Just because people dont speak and type exactly the way you would expect.

Matt, You didn't use any apostrophes in your post. See me after class.

hahahahaha or is it jajajajaja??? thank you all for the lecture on how to spell n well to be honest with you this isn't no real life Sh** so its not like something is going to happen to me for spelling my blog incorrectly rite?? ok then and if i remember correctly this is about football not English class so get a life and stop criticizing people.. oh if you think my feelings were hurt hahaha nah i dont give a DAMN later....

There is no way a son of mine would be proud to show his ignorance by butchering the English language this way. It's impossible to read, obnoxiously stupid, and mentally youthfully silly.

I'll bet it was that damn illegal Mexican/African American gardener that sired that dumb ass.

Posted by: Jrojas Father | Sep 2, 2008 4:22:56 PM

it's actually hahahahahaha, "spell AND well to be honest".
(which you don't actually need to put "well" in the sentence or if you did have to put it there, it should've gone like this "how to spell and well, to be honest")

Last two things, "rite??" i think you shooting for "right" and you missed an apostrophe in "don't".

Your getting better though and with time you'll do just fine.

Posted by: Jrojas special ed teacher | Sep 2, 2008 4:24:57 PM

You can spell and speak any way you want on a blog, that is fine.

However, if you choose to write and spell like an uneducated slob, then be prepared to be treated as one.

MAN....PANTHERS ONLY HAVE 3 (THREE) WR'S ON THE ROSTER RIGHT NOW!!!....Moose, Hackett and Jarrett! Thats crazy How can we go into a season only 3 WR... The Jones guy for kicks returner have no Career Catch

Posted by: Naija Boi | Sep 2, 2008 4:34:47 PM

Well I'm glad we're all taking more time to talk about spelling than football. Good thing time is being used properly.

For those of us who like to talk about football, I am excited that the Panthers are healthy, and I think that they can actually go and win at San Diego. The lack of healthy and available receivers is a bit of a concern, but as long as DeAngelo and J-Stew and the defense are on top of their game, we can pull this out. GO PANTHERS!!

Posted by: JPanther | Sep 2, 2008 4:58:28 PM

are you rocket scientist ready for some football?

Posted by: kennymack | Sep 2, 2008 6:03:53 PM

Naija boy we should be fine with 3 WRs in the 1st 2 games...we'll probably run a lot more than we pass with Stewart and D-Will getting a ton of carries. When we do pass, we probably will only have 2 WRs on the field and use our TEs like Rosario who have good pass catching ability and can stretch the field. By Game 3 we'll have at least 4 WRs with Smith coming back, and Robinson should be back by then too so that would make 5.

This grammar/spelling/punctuation crap is getting ridiculous. IT'S A BLOG! And it's one thing to get on David Scott's case for bad spelling (or whoever wrote the blog entry), these guys are journalists so it's acceptable to bother them about it. But attacking the writing skills of blog commenters is just plain retarded.

Posted by: DB | Sep 2, 2008 6:26:12 PM

I really can't believe there areso many posts on a Panthers blog about spelling..However I will have to agree with mcap. If you choose to present yourself as an uneducated, uncivilized all around retard then just be prepared for someone to correct you and shame you for it.

On a different note I saw that Dre Moore was released from Tampa. I was really big on getting this guy in the 3rd or 4th round. I wonder why he didn't work out in the bay. I know Fox said we are not making any more roster moves but it might not be a bad idea to bring him in and take a look. Or they might just be delagating him to the P.S.

Posted by: JV | Sep 2, 2008 6:31:17 PM

Naija Boi,

I don't think they have officially release Thompson yet so he might still be technically on the roster but even if he is not I would not sweat it to much. We have 3 very good pass catching tight ends that we could use in a lot of different ways..Rosario could line up in the slot if need be, or just use 2 tight end sets.

Posted by: JV | Sep 2, 2008 6:34:32 PM

As long as we dont lose by 21 or more points - the game against San Diego is a win-win. We have the ultimate excuse (no steve smith). As long as we keep it close in the 4th - we can win this game! Our Run-D has always been good and Phil Rivers just does not scare me(or Lucas, Gamble, Marshall, Harris, and Godfrey either)

Posted by: bbbbb | Sep 2, 2008 6:45:29 PM

Oh Ok You're Right DB and JV, we should be fine i guess

We are in trouble guys, (let me make sure I am using AP style) for whoever that guy is..lol anyway, The problem with our team is it lacks SPEED! I am so sick and tired of bringing in "Pocession" WR's.....i didn't like Drew Carter but when you let Carter go you have to at least bring in one guy into camp that can do down field! and see what he has...but noooooooo here we go again with a bunch of good "Route Runners" of course they run good routes they have too!! they can't get by anyone and that makes our passing game EASY! to defend! get up on Moose and Jarrett (and hackett too) because he's good but he's not a Down Field Speed guy at all!) Like some people seem to think he is....So time will tell but....Fox and hurney have got! to add some speed to this team....it's one of our biggest flaws!

Posted by: Cheven | Sep 2, 2008 9:24:36 PM

There is speed on this team. I handed it out with the steroids.

Matt, you are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayy off about the quality of education people receive is at fault. Way off! Frankly, you can stay clueless all you want, just don't blame others for it. I mean, I hope your not the type of parent who would be angry at a teacher when your child habitually ends up in trouble at school: are you?

That being said; "gangsta terminology?" Really? OK. Someone obviously woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
