Wharton out for Vikings; Harris questionable

Panthers offensive guard Travelle Wharton (knee) won't play Sunday at Minnesota. It will be the second straight game that Wharton, who said he sprained the MCL in his right knee against the San Diego Chargers two weeks ago, will miss. He'll be replaced by Geoff Hangartner.

Safety Chris Harris didn't practice Friday because of a thigh injury and is questionable for the Vikings game.

Other questionables who practiced on a limited basis Friday: DE Tyler Brayton (ankle), LB Na'il Diggs (shoulder), CB Chris Gamble (arm), DT Maake Kemoeatu (illness) and CB Richard Marshall (thigh). R/KR Ryne Robinson (knee) is doubtful.

Lots of nicks starting to pile up. But we've played two very physical teams already. And the Vikings will make for a third. If we can push through, the schedule gets a lot easier and that bye week in the middle of the season should help everyone get back to 100%. Get well soon, guys!

we could be 9-1 or 8-2 going into green bay game with a little luck.

man, I sure hope Chris Harris plays Sunday. (and gets his 3rd st8 forced fumble) that dude is a beast.

Hopefully this week Peppers, Beason, and Diggs can get to the QB early and often. the only thing im worried about is the Minnesota D-line and Peterson. though Peterson missed practice yesterday (hamstring ?).

Fantasy ? - Anyone think i should start M.Cassell over Favre this weekend? both Miami and SD passing defenses SUCK... but NE has better WR's.

I am SO GLAD to have smitty back. hopefully he and the oter Panther WR's can TORCH the secondary early and allow for J-Stew and D-Will to run it down thier throats...

I'm looking for at least 24 points out of our offense this week... If not more!

Not sure why my comment posted 4 times. I clicked "POST" only once!

Wharton is one thing, but missing out on forced fumbles/game changers Harris produces is a whole other thing. Who is starting in his place?? ...please don't tell it's going to be Ms. Salley. Put Teal or Wilson in there instead. Hell, try Wesley out at that position. But Nate is fragile and a liability in coverage. Where is local boy Holt when you need him!?

I sure hope Salley grows one in time for this game. They are going to need someone to make solid tackles (not bounce off like he usually does when his target sees him coming) against the real deal, Adrian Peterson.

Holt was cut.

Where is Terrence Holt? He's chilling at home, because apparently no team thinks he's worth one of the 1700 NFL roster spots. Not only do WE not need him, neither does ANYBODY else.

SYRPIS, no one said Harris isn't starting. He's a warrior, unless that thigh is really messed up he will play. That is a lot of injuries piling up though...we really can't afford to be without any of those guys besides Robinson and Wharton. And we'll be needing those 2 guys back ASAP as well.

This is typical John Fox playing with his injury report. Don't worry! The only guys who won't be playing at the game is Wharton and Robinson. Either way Jake Delhomme is going to look like a Pro-Bowl QB this week. I can't wait.

Revshawn is right, Harris will be there on Sunday. Robinson will hopefully be back next week. The one I'm most worried about is Wharton. He's been injury prone and this could be a nagging inury all season. I think he's a bigger loss than Harris. Our O-Line looked dominant when he was in there against San Diego. Geoff is serviceable but Wharton in there at guard makes a big malling O-line.

Oh, and PantherFan, DO NOT start Cassell until he shows something, stick with Favre. Cassell looked awful against a mediocre Jets team. Sure he won the game and didn't throw an interception, but he had less fantasy points than Favre who lost the game and threw an interception. Cassell hardly had any throws that were longer than 7 yards. I mean it looked like Weinke back there. Check-down, quick out, dump pass. Ugh. Hard to watch. I'm hating Cassell right now because I have Moss and he hardly even looked for Moss the entire game.
