Brooks: Nothing can rival Bucs-Panthers

1009panthersbucs    Forget Atlanta; Tampa Bay LB Derrick Brooks is one of those guys who believes that the Bucs’ biggest rival is Carolina.

“I must agree,” he said with a laugh on a just-completed conference call. “We just feel it’s the biggest rivalry from the standpoint that we’re the two teams that represented the division in the Super Bowl. The games that we’ve played; 90 percent of them have come down to the last plays of the game, whether it be a field goal or a drive.

“And just the personalities; it’s been good competition amongst us. There’s usually some jabbering going on every snap. Just the importance, I feel that each time we’ve played each other, it’s always been for high stakes.

“And now it’s for first place in the division. It’s a fun rivalry, and the way we feel too is the Panthers are our biggest rival.”

Brooks also said that the Bucs are well aware that Carolina has won five straight in Tampa, saying that it has already been mentioned several times this week.

“It’s been discussed, and again, it’s just another motivating factor,” he said. “Just defending our home turf as a whole, and going undefeated at home is a goal. A big game, and I know it’s going to be fun.”

Thanks for choosing your screen name to start with "proct"; it's fitting that you choose a word with similar meaning as proctologist.

Hey Proct- Don't you worry, I will get mine.

Amen, DeAngelo. As long as your blockers keep you from getting touched, you'll get it ALL!

do you think that ya'all might want to change the "See what they are saying ..." feature from Kansas City to Tampa Bay seeing that we are almost half way thru the week.

I agree that Tampa is our biggest rival. The games are always competitive, there is usually something at stake, and we usually beat each other up pretty goodly. They hate loosing to us as much as we hate loosing to them.

With first place on the line, as well as a five game loosing streak, Tampa will be fired up this week. Which is to be expected.

Both teams have great D's, the difference maker will be on the Offensive side of the ball, where we are much more consistent. If we continue to play the run well, their offense will struggle.

Block well, no turnovers, tackle well, keep the penalties down, run the ball effectively, and harrass Garcia and we win.

Panthers 20, Bucs 10. GO CATS!

My guess on this game the panthers win in a defensive and special teams battle. We need to hold Gaines Adams, If Gross is unable to start Frank Omiyale will need to really step up. The defensive line will half to play well. Julius will get a 0.5 a sack the line difference maker on the d-line will be D'lo Cris Gamble will be great. 17 to 10 Panthers!

Why does A**h*l* mean "hero" in American culture? Seriously. In this culture, if someone gets fececious (especially out of the blue) with someone, they get a round of rewarding laughter and a pat on the back from on-lookers. In other cultures, that same person would get a swift kick in the arse, and put in their place thereafter. Why is this? Seriously.

If you are scratching your head (probably are) thinking that I'm an idiot that is making things up, just look at all the jabbering over Steve Smith and others like him (Bridges for the Panthers, Smith's life-long friend #8-5, etc., etc.). Why is this type behavior not only accepted but rewarded in America? I mean, did Bridges ask for an apology??

If you are wondering why America is in the cr#pp#r right now, just ask yourselves, "what is it exactly that I take pride in the most." Chances are that many of you will get your answer (wheter you realize it or not).

P.S. If you can't handle the truth, then change reality so you can.

Keeping It Real,

WTF?

Just sick and tired of all the BS. You would think everyone else would be too, considring.

Keeping it Real

Europe is looking at a prolonged economic downturn and the Asian markets are being hit hard as well. So pretty much we are experiencing a global economic crisis yet America is "down in the crapper" b/c of all the jabbering about Steve Smith? Seriously, why do you even post on here?

As for this upcoming game, the Bucs always present a formidable challenge. They beat us pretty handedly at home last year and we won on the road as they were resting some of their starters for the playoffs. If we can run the ball effectively I foresee a 10 point win. Without a good running game, I think it will come down to a late drive in the 4th to win it.

I'm an idiot, I'm an idiot. I can't help myself. I don't know why but I have the urge to reinforce this on this blog. Several, and I mean several, people have told me but I'm too arrogant, pompous, and/or stupid to learn and look in the mirror and ask myself...."self, is it them or is it me?" I can't help myself, but I'll continue to try and win you losers over while saying the same ridiculous, childish, juvenile, brain draining sh!t until I give up (change my screen name again) or you just ignore me. Neither will happen. lmao

Remember the old philosophy that people (especially kids) do stupid things to get attention because they don't get any attention any other way. I think this fits here, KIR. Please find another way to entertain yourself. You really don't belong here.

Posted by: from 1 no name loser 2 another | Oct 9, 2008 1:42:08 PM

KIR,

You are about as annoying as poison ivy on a pecker...are you the poison ivy or the pecker? You decide.

Posted by: dan | Oct 9, 2008 1:47:11 PM

Now dog gone it, KIR, everyone seems to be hating on you? You hold your chin up high and continue saying what you beleive. When I'm in the Whitehouse, I'll need someone to keep an eye on those pesky Russians. Will you move there and get up every morning to see if they are there. Just tell them to shew, shew and get back where you come from? Can you do that, you betcha!
