« Kasay Ties Stenerud | Main | Panthers (6-2) hold off Cards, in first place »

Halftime update

Score: Cardinals 10, Panthers 3

Carolina missed a prime opportunity for a touchdown after driving to the Arizona 4 midway in the second quarter.

Wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad was wide open in the right front side of the end zone and dropped a pass from quarterback Jake Delhomme.

The Panthers weren't able to get at TD on the next two plays and wound up settling for John Kasay's 22-yard field goal.

A turnover earlier in the second period led to the only touchdown of the first half.

Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby sacked Delhomme, forced a fumble and recovered the fumble at the Carolina 5. Kurt Warner threw a 5-yard TD pass to Anquan Boldin on the next play.

Moose has always dropped big passes on third downs and in the end zone. He had a very similar one in Week 1 at SD.

Shock of all shocks, I've actually seen some tough running by DeAngelo today. Not really taking on big hits, but at least breaking through some arm tackles, which is more than can usually be said for him.

Hey Procton, how does 17-3 feel right about now? By the way, Lions lead 10-9.

Kid's playing like he wants it. Still not making things happen when the blocking isn't there, but he's doing ok.

Feels about like 17-10, jack@$$.

GREAT PLAY BY THE DEFENSE! They really seem to be able to turn the momentum when we need it. And there's Peppers, on the other side of the play watching.

So how's it feel to you now, winnie?

Posted by: Michael Procton | Oct 26, 2008 3:09:02 PM

Boo ya!

By the way, where are the people whining about Kemoeatu "not making plays?"

Posted by: Michael Procton | Oct 26, 2008 3:12:51 PM

And Chris Gamble, again, is playing big.

I see Godfrey get burned in coverage OVER and OVER again. Wasn't he a corner in college?

Beason just had NO idea what he was doing on that Boldin TD.

It's too bad we have such bad coaches and players. We roll over every time we get behind...oh, wait. You mean we haven't?

Nice feature by FOX showing Peppers getting put on his backside by superstar Mike Gandy.

Posted by: Michael Procton | Oct 26, 2008 3:34:06 PM

Looks like Beason did know what was going on on that last one.

Posted by: KCPanther | Oct 26, 2008 3:39:46 PM

Or at least made a nice adjustment to a tipped ball. ;)

Posted by: Michael Procton | Oct 26, 2008 3:48:10 PM

Is that the case? I can't actually see the game... just watching on NFL.com.

Posted by: KCPanther | Oct 26, 2008 3:59:39 PM

Haha...yeah. JJ Arrington tipped a ball way up in the air.

It must be said: John Fox did a heck of a job "not making halftime adjustments" today. And the team really had a tough time "overcoming adversity" when they went down two TDs. We should definitely fire him and clean house.
