Kalil, Hackett out for Sunday

Big game for DJ due to the Buc's secondary will be focusing more on Smith and Moose. I hope he can perform well on this opportunity and we can send the other DJ packing. Not too worried about the O line as we have plenty of depth and experience. It's better to rest a game or two to get back to 100% than to try and play every game injured at 80%. We have the depth to enjoy that luxury.

I really hope we get through the game alright. A win and no injuries would be nice rare but def nice.

Jarrett, 5 catches, one TD

there is no way that jarret is better than hackett.and the panthers should not focuse to throw the ball only to smith.they should spread the ball around like they played against the san diego without smith.

Well, let's see...one guy can't stay healthy and one guy doesn't get a chance due to other priority positions. Neither one contributes much in that situation. We have pu$$y footed around long enough with Jarret. If he doesn't cut the mustard then get rid of him like Colbert and the other clown (already forgot his name). Hackett has been given his chances...both with Seattle and with Carolina. He is as fragile as porcelan. Time for Jarret to get in there and compete. He just needs the chance. If he does well, then we are more solid with Moose and Smitty. If he doesn't, then we continue looking for the #3 wideout.

And...you are right. We should not focus on Smith but spread the ball around (to keep the defense honest) But...and a big but, it is hard to deny the electricty and connection that Jake and Smith have. We all have seen the amazing catches and YACs Smith has put together when nothing seems to be going right. So at the end of the day, when all else fails, sling it to Smitty, Jake! I would accept that any day.

I wouldn't give up or be pessimistic on Dwayne Jarrett just yet. I've seen nobody recievers suddenly up and break out in their 3rd or 4th year. If I remember correctly, Dwayne Jarrett is currently signed on a 4 year contract with 2008-09 with this year being year 2. Recievers historically struggle in their first year and start to get better at a much better pace in the next three years. They eventually have a 'break out' game that propells them firmly into a starting position, and I believe that it will happen to Dwayne Jarrett.
All it takes is a little hard work and stopping those stupid DUI's from happening. Dwayne Jarrett isn't some 7th round pick that is going to have to grind his rear end off every year in order to have any hope of staying on a team. He's a second round pick in the mold of a taller/stronger Muhsin Muhammad that just needs to get his years into John Fox's veteran friendly system. His upside is tremendous if he can get his head into the game. With Moose in the twilight years of his career and a constant injury risk in DJ Hackett, Dwayne Jarrett will have plenty of times to prove that he's a capable starter in the NFL in the next couple years as well as this year.
Remember, all it takes is one game.

Dwayne is still growing up, and has a lot to prove; and he knows it, AND CARES. Give him a break. I'm proud of my Cats this year, and we have no reason not to be optimistic about the Yucks game tomorrow.
And check this out; I love it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtqiDm6Pd1w

Yeah, I believe that it's kinda soon to hit the panic button on a 22 year old wideout with a lot of potential. In one John Fox interview he spoke about how much better he has performed in comparison to last year, and last year he wasn't inactive due to the number of players allowed for the game. He just needed to study a lot more (info courtesy of Steve Smith). Understand that we have Smitty, Moose, DJ, King and Rosario for receivers and an extra spot for lloyd (the kicker). So the fact that there is no hesitation to get him in when we can is a great sign. Besides it's not like he's constantly been dropping balls like Colbert and ummmm... oh yeah, Carter.

I will say this about Drew Carter though, the Green Bay game last year was a heck of a game for him. I think if he is able to stay healthy he may turn out to be a pretty good third receiver. Of course, he needs to make sure he practices catching the ball a lot more.

I predict a big day for Rosario Dawson in "The Sombrero."

KK-- I love that song too. Madorn rap is loathesome and dispicable, but that tribute rocked. It was the same song I posted a day or two ago in a different link. I think they should make this song their battle cry.
I agree with dogear. On top of that, I think they will activate Barnidge (due to OL shortage) too and use multiple TE sets to help the running game. Expect a game changing catch by Barnidge this game too. I think they've have had him on the shelf too long. This would be a good time to unveil him.

Qutoes from the link posted by the Observor from other sources:
Coaches have been more accepting of Trueblood's hot temper than his false starts.
"Basically the coaches are saying be smart at what you do," Trueblood said. "If you're going to retaliate, don't do it on that play after the whistle was blown because the second guy is who gets noticed."
"There have been a few times that I could have definitely gone after someone, but I've waited until a few plays later."
---There it is in a nutshell. The Tampa Bay *uc*s are even worse then the "Dirty (B*st*rd) Birds."

To be the 3rd receiver, he either has to be good and run solid routes, or play special teams. Jarrett does neither. When there is a healthy choice to cover punts and kicks, Jarrett wont be active.
