Panthers up 11 at half

Halftime score: Panthers 21, Packers 10

The Packers had cut an 11-point Carolina lead to 4 before a faulty snap turned into a huge play for Carolina.

Green Bay center Scott Wells snapped the ball over the head of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who was in the shotgun formation, and Carolina defensive end Charles Johnson recovered at the Packers' 17.

It was a turnaround play because Green Bay had regained momentum of the game.

Carolina took advantage of the mistake when DeAngelo Williams scored his second TD of the game on a 1-yard run. Combined with John Kasay's PAT kick, the Panthers' lead was restored to 11 points, 21-10 at the half.

Earlier in the period, Jake Delhomme scored on a 1-yard run on which he faked to Williams, rolled left and ran into the corner of the end zone.

The Packers' points came on a Mason Crosby field goal and a 6-yard pass from Aaron Rodgers to Donald Driver.

What's up with Lloyd today? I'm following the game on NFL.com and it looks like his kickoffs are WAY shorter. Is weather an issue?

Can we please get a QB that looks to the open reciever instead of forcing the ball to Smith. Gary Barnridge was wide open down the field at least twice, Moose was running free, as was King. Does Delhomme even look in their direction??? Nope he forces the ball to Smith, nearly turning it over and forcing 4th down. Delhomme is a horrible QB. Procton and the like can quote whatever stat they like the fact remains Delhomme sucks and he hurts the Panthers far more than he helps.

Dude is the defense just gunna give up or what?

Posted by: paul | Nov 30, 2008 3:04:07 PM

Yes. Winds are 15-25 mph. The commentators have remarked on it. They're also expecting snow later in the day. Not sure if it'll arrive before the game ends, though.

Might as well admitt it, The panthers defense just isnt good 5 yrds, twice the packers ran the same play and STILL couldnt hold. First half of the year the Panther were good but they have took a total turn around.

Lookin like they decided to start fast and finish slow this week...

Posted by: ANILORAC OG | Nov 30, 2008 3:19:27 PM

Jake Delhomme couldn't hit air if it was wide open for a pass.

Posted by: Nick | Nov 30, 2008 3:19:54 PM

Delhomme still looks awful at times. Defense has to pull this one out.

Posted by: Krueger | Nov 30, 2008 3:21:39 PM

Now lost an 11 point lead in 12 mins. We run a swing pass to Nick Goings on 3 & 10??? WTF! Our defense cannot cover a 5 yard route yet in this game. They better wake up quick. A loss here means no NFC South title and more than likely no playoffs.

Posted by: J Thomas | Nov 30, 2008 3:22:46 PM

who puts nick goings in on a freaking screen pass on the most important drive? are you kidding me?

Posted by: goings? | Nov 30, 2008 3:23:45 PM

The Panthers have gotten away from what works...they are a so so team at best...so sad because they have the potential but they are only as good as the people that coach...plus it wouldn't hurt to start looking for a new quarterback...

Posted by: angela | Nov 30, 2008 3:24:26 PM

if delhomme doesnt get rid of the ball faster and look for another receiver other than smith then we need to cut smith so he will realize that there are other people on the dead gum field!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Posted by: delhomme? | Nov 30, 2008 3:25:14 PM

another touchdown for Greenbay!!!

Posted by: angela | Nov 30, 2008 3:28:21 PM

i guess our defense is tired of showing up to play now as well!!!!

Posted by: defense? | Nov 30, 2008 3:28:32 PM

Is it me, or, does Coach Fox always looks confused? What does he do for this team? We have an offensive and defensive coordinator. If over-seeing is all, he sucks at this too. When things don't work, try something different. How come the Head Coach can't figure this out?

Did I mention that Delhomme sucks?

Posted by: Nick | Nov 30, 2008 3:30:26 PM

Someone saw Beason gettin beasty with Lucas? Uh uh , blown coverage Ken. That looked just miserable.

Posted by: Krueger | Nov 30, 2008 3:31:36 PM

19 un answered points. Lucas is toast, defense sucks...... I almost paid for my playoof tickets, how overly optimistic... this team isn't going anywhere. We should look to make some changes... Turgo ahould be the first to go, then Lucas. This team has no heart......

Posted by: jj | Nov 30, 2008 3:34:07 PM

well i think we can see why paying gamble's top 5 money was a waste. he has missed too many plays today!!!!!!

Posted by: gamble? | Nov 30, 2008 3:34:12 PM

18 unanswered points in the second half. 33 yards of offense in the second half. The team quit at halftime thinking they had won the game. The defensive backs need to play up on the receivers. They are just running free off the line and having their way with the Panthers secondary. Rodgers has all day to throw. Another loss probally means no divison title and pushing us further and further from making the playoffs. Wake up Panthers now before it is too late!!!

Posted by: J Thomas | Nov 30, 2008 3:35:13 PM

I like what Peppers did thats what We need to see NICE HIT NICE HIT!!!!!

Posted by: paul | Nov 30, 2008 3:56:01 PM

defense sucks.... look at the confusion... they can't stop anyone..... we aren't going anywhere... no heart

Posted by: jj | Nov 30, 2008 3:56:45 PM

I dont see how the Oakland and Kansas city fans do it year after year, I dont know How i do it year after year, gives me headaches

Posted by: paul | Nov 30, 2008 3:59:30 PM

It looks like we're going to pull another rabbit out of the hat with this game. Which means, Coach Fox will probably think his game plan worked out to perfection. Which means, another week of bad game planning and poor play calling.
