Well, before we all go crazy and start complaining, lets remember, were 8-2 and if your quaterback isn't hot, Eli Manning wasn't until the playoffs last year, you rely on what is, and that's DeAngelo Williams, 3rd straight 100yd day, 4th of the season. I say John Fox bench Ryan Khalil for the season b/c we have something with Geoff H. @ Center...maybe he's the true answer there. Also, Kudos to Julius Peppers 9 sacks 5 Forced Fumbles(League Leading) is making his case for a big new contract. I would rather our run be an all time best right now than the pass, wouldn't you? Jake will find it much easier to get going if we continue to run the ball like this. Im amazed at the great job John fox and our coaching staff have done, now two more wins were @ 10. Lets Go Carolina!!!

OK, we are 8-2 and still in first place. We did score 30 points and should have won by a wider margin. The question is; Did Culpeppers arrival make Detroits offense that much better, or did our Defense just underestimate the Lions offense?
8-2 BABY, GOOO CATS!

Ronnie, the run game was good, but the pass protection was average at best, and that's been a great deal of Delhomme's problem. It also has to do with Otah's return to health. Like Hangartner, he IS strong in the run game, but he's a mediocre pass blocker at best.

Can someone please just ask Jake not to throw the ball off of his back foot! He always has an accurate pass when he follows through! C'mon Jake!

Again, much harder to follow through when you're getting nailed by or are running away from a big DL.

We really miss Deshaun Fumbling Foster don't we.
I am afraid our qb play will soon be compared to Chicago's......."Just Let Jake Manage (Not Lose) the game.
At some point he will have to become more consistent or we will not continue to win.
What was Jake's qb average today?
He over throws, under throws, throws behind, and then he continues to make those stupid ass faces and waves his arms around. I am about ready for Moose to go over and slap the ship out of him.
GO PANTHERS

It was 85.0, Jason. And maybe it's Muhammad who deserves the slap after all the balls he's dropped that have hit him right between the numbers this year, including more than one in the end zone.

The NFL is a league of momentum. We were dead flat at Oakland, but luckily they were so bad we got away with it. Today we seemed like we had a hangover from last week in the first quarter. In the second quarter, we started to get on track. The run clearly is carrying us, but I believe we can continue to build on this momentum and get the passing game going in Atlanta. We clearly haven't peaked, but hopefully we will peak in the coming weeks with a play-off/SB run. Jake has always been a big game QB, let's hope he still is.

Where are all the fans??? Once again, the stadium had many, many, many empty seats. This has been a good season to go to the home games and see a good team win football games. Why do people still not show up?

What is your opinion of Baker's punting this season? I'm really worried that his poor play might end up being our undoing in the playoffs. Should Fox consider bringing someone in to give Baker reason to start stepping it up?

Hey Procton, Julius Peppers and DeAngelo really suck don't they? Williams is putting together the best season the Panthers have seen from a RB since Stephen Davis. As for Peppers, he has 9 sacks and 5 FF but I'm sure you still have some choice words for them.

I was reading a recap of the game and the article said Hanson's FG was wind aided. It looked to me like that kick would've been good from over 60 yards. I was just wondering how much the wind affected it? Wind aided or not, still impressive that a 38 year old kicker can do that.

All the fans that don't turn up are those that were laid off by Wachovia.

Hey Special Needs Procton.......I remember 1 of Jakes passes Moose caught in the endzone that was way off target as usual and he ended up with a concussion. (And it was not an illegal hit proctie).
Moose is used to catching balls of overrated qb's he did it in Chicago and in Carolina 2 times now.
Procton is just mad that we don't have Fumbling Foster, Drew Carter, Kery Colbert and the love of his life David (do my gloves match) Carr.
It is obvious with the play calling the last two weeks that the offensive coordinator Davidson has no confidence in Jake.
If we had only signed Brett we would be undefeated.
The last minute drives would not have been necessary earlier in the season if Jake had played worth a shit in the 1st,2nd,3rd, most of the 4th quarters.
Put that in your pipe Proctie.

Can we win the division? Can we beat the Giants? Can we win a Superbowl finally?

Jerad, I've never denied Peppers' ability to play well. It's simply a matter of doing it consistently. He's been an impact player in consecutive weeks for the first time all year. Hopefully he can keep it up.
As for DeAngelo, he's playing well too, but Stewart again outplayed him, as he often has when he's been healthy. DeAngelo's game is predicated on big breakaway runs, not tough yards on 3rd downs and at the goal line. As the announcers said today, most of his best runs happen because he doesn't get touched. Stewart has the ability to make things happen even when he does.
jason, I'll assume you're talking about Brian Dawkins' helmet-to-helmet hit in the end zone during the preseason. It was on target enough that Muhammad had it in his hands, but dropped it after the illegal hit.
Great point you make about Brett Favre, too. He's led his team to a worse record than the Panthers in a MUCH worse division, so there's NO QUESTION he'd make us better. Yeah right.

I'm with you K - I'm worried about Baker's punting. I don't know his stats, but seems like he averages ~ 40+ yard punts - that's not going to get it done

Proctie it's strange how the refs on the play we are discussing did not throw a flag, and yet you continue to be smarter than the refs.
I think all of the receivers are getting tired of putting their bodies and careers on the line when they must just 10 feet or twist a hip out of place in order to give jake bojangle a completion.
Yes Brett is doing terrible with his team that he signed with what 3 months ago. I think he is doing great in comparision to Fumbleloome. Jake has been with his team what 5 years.
Brett is allowed to pass in the second half of a game. His coaches are not afraid to let him be a qb and not a hand off guy.

gang, we need to quit bitchin about jake and baker and start cussing the weakest link on the entire team. And thats pass the loot lucas! this chicken s--t paycheck player aint gonna tackle nobody. sure he can cover but his side of the field is always good for a ten yard sweep. Am I the only one who noticed how gamble would come up and pop the s--t out of anybody trying to turn his corner?

stork302 what should we do go over to the sideline and punch him in the face breaking his nose.

Who is wearing Jakes jersey? HE IS. He has always been a second rate QB and always will be. Great running game? Against a team who now is ZERO and 10?
Next are Atlanta, Green Bay, Tampa, Denver, NY Giants, and New Orleans. Care to predict which game the Panthers will win??
From 8-2 to 9-7 in 6 weeks. That's how I see it.

I agree with Procton that Peppers isn't always consistently at the top of his game. I don't agree that Jon Stewart is the better of the two running backs at this time. Delangelo Williams has made alot of other good runs than just the two long TD runs. Against Oakland he had a number of good runs where there appeared to be nothing. I think he reads the blocking better than Stewart at this point. He seems to find creases that aren't there.
I am worried about the run defense. The D has had some trouble stopping the run the last two weeks.
I like the play of the secondary. I like the way the coaching staff is moving Peppers around. The pass rush has been consistent lately.
I believe Delhomme will come out of this funk and start playing like he did early in the season.

Anyone who was at the game: At the 2:00 warning of the first half, John Fox challenged a play. With the time out for the warning, he had plenty of opportunity to see a replay. I sure someone in the booth was rewinding over and over, but did they show it on the big screen? Or did the need to show commercials matter more than a chance to win the game? They should have shown every angle they had so he could make a good decision.

kay, that might be a good idea. sorry I didn't think about that.
