Where does Fox rank among coaches in '08?

Our pal Jason Whitlock, a former Observer staff who's now a renowned Kansas City Star columnist, rated the NFL's top 10 coaches of the year so far for the Fox Sports website.

He ranked John Fox of the Panthers No. 3 overall behind Washington's Jim Zorn and New England's Bill Belichick. That's pretty good for a coach who one year ago was said to be on the hot seat.

I like Fox, I don't want Fox to go anywhere as long as we are winning. I like Fox, He is the coach that has taken us to the highest level. I like Fox, and it's obvious that he is a good "players coach"... You see, I like Fox... But not that much!!! I mean, where do Tom Coughlin and Jeff Fisher land?

In my opinion... We have much better talent than the Titans, yet, we are not the ones with the chance at a 10-0 record in 08'. I also feel that Tom Coughlin has his team ready to play and beat anyone in the league. As a Panther fan, perhaps it's due to the past few seasons, I still fear a let down on sundays (even when we're ahead).

Googoo.. what the heck are you talking about.!!!!!!!! You are Not much of a Panthers fan, always wanting a change.. Tom Couglin was on his way out last year, when he pulled the Superbowl out of his ass, and he had a healthy QB all year..!! The Reason Jeff Fisher is so good, the owner doesn't listen to the Expert FANS, that wanted to run Fisher out of town several times, when they had a team that was bad.. Every 4 to 5 years, a coach and GM loose their core players, either thru FA or retirement.. And then have to rebuild the roster. The Smart owners, in Tenn and Pittsburgh, realize this, and stick with the proven Coach. There was no reason for the Panthers to change coaches at the end of last year. I am so glad that Jerry Richardson didn't listen to all the Expert fans.. Panthers need to extend Fox and Hurney for 5 more years. Just to shut the fans up for next year..

Yes extend contract and when we win the Division and have home field advantage and the bye week Peppers will get his maybe a week before. Get ready Pep. Back to the Pro Bowl incentives! Go Panthers Super Bowl Champs. Got to get it over you Kris.
Jets vs. Panthers. Panthers Champs.

Stats are for losers. It is what it is. Even New England has bandwagon fans. I thought that wouldn't be possible after seeing how they stood by their team through the 1990's and late 80's, but last night they showed their real colors. I guess fans can get spoiled by success (even though theirs is mostly on paper). If the Panthers win a Superbowl, where will all you fox haters go? Will you step up and admit you were wrong (and were being a schmuck: for some of those haters)??

Don't take this the wrong way, but 3rd is way too good. Our 7-2 record is good, but most analyst knew we would be competitive in most of our games and playoff bound if Jake's arm had fully recovered. His arm is apparently stronger according to him. Team's I feel should be considered in order:

1. Dolphins
2. Redskins
3. Titans
4. Ravens
5. Cardinals
6. Patriots

The first 4 teams are complete surprises to most NFL analyst in the league. 3 of the top 4 had recent coaching changes and the rapid change of mentality on how these teams now approach the game is impressive. The dolphins have revolutionized an older offensive scheme and made it popular again. How can they not be number 1?

FIREFOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And keep in Mind, this is not the best coach in the NFL. Just coach of the year. There is a difference.

Please start Dwayne Jarrett this weekend Panthers.

FIREFOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firefox, I've gotta ask, did you come up with that posting name because you want to see carolina get rid of john fox, or did you just enjoy that clint eastwood movie? Either way, I hate the name, but you sure do come up with some top drawer comments. especially that last one about jarrett. I'm like you, I think he's about to bust.

Stork,

Neither.....it's because I'm an attention whore and can't help myself. You see, I know this will get a rise out of some people thus giving me, me, me, all the attention, so I will continue to use it. All you haters, deal with it!

P.S. I also continue to use it because the best part of me ran down my daddy's leg when he and mommy were playing and I don't know when to stop even when people tell me I'm a degenerate. Again, it all brings me ATTENTION and I LOVE IT! Thanks for asking.
