OG Vincent downgraded to 'out' for Giants
Offensive guard Keydrick Vincent, who hurt his groin late in last week's victory against Denver, won't play Sunday against the Giants. Vincent had had been listed as doubtful for the Giants earlier Friday, but the Panthers downgraded his status Friday afternoon.
Vincent's place will likely be taken by either Geoff Hangartner or Jeremy Bridges.
The Panthers' offensive line has been hit by injuries this season, with each starter now missing at least one game. But the unit's depth -- with players like Bridges and Geoff Hangartner stepping in -- has made up for it and the offense hasn't suffered because of the injury problems. -- David Scott

everyone is talking about if kemo can play or not but i think this is a big deal as well.... luckliy we have some depth with briges and hangardner at guard but i think a big reason our running game has been so good is because our oline has been in tact for the last 3-4 games.

They are both capable backups to Vincent. Yes, it hurts to not have him in the lineup but are we supposed to throw in the towel now? They will be just fine.

I hate to lose Vincent, but of the five starting lineman, he's the one that's most easy to replace. It'll still hurt, though.

As an interesting bit tacked on to the Giants 5-game home losing streak in December, the Panthers are 5-1 in their last six road games in December. Over the course of four seasons, those aren't coincidences...those are trends.

Is Bridges still looking at a possible suspension? With Vincent out, we need him more than ever...

The o-line really doesnt loose a step when someone falls off. That is a testiment to the backups. They could start any time for almost anybody but having a guard replaced is better than a tackle. A guard has much more support in the middle and smaller area to defend. I would also throw may hat in for Bridges. As far as Kemo...With how often we rotate in the line I dont se a whole lot of fall off with out him. I think we will be alright as long as Beason keeps filling those holes.

I am intrigued to watch this game because of the Kemo scenario. He has been one of our most durable defenders over the years, and because of his lack of stats, I don't think people realize how big of an impact he has. He jams up running lanes and takes up a LOT of space, and mostly he eats up blocker to free our LBs up to make plays. Hopefully the Giants don't torch us on the ground without him, but if they do maybe people will finally accept how big of an impact he has. Besides, even if they do run the ball well against us, I would bet the farm that D-Will and Jon will be better.
