Fiammetta: Family man

Tony Fiammetta is a family guy, through and through.

Fiammetta, a fullback from Syracuse who was taken by the Panthers in the fourth round in Sunday's NFL draft, is married and has a young son named Vincent.

Fiammetta's dad, also named Vincent, is a retired lieutenant colonel in the Marines who just returned from Afghanistan, where he had been since last July.

"My father is my biggest role model," said Fiammetta. "The biggest gift he's given me is having self discipline. I had that in my career at Syracuse and I will in the NFL, as well.

"To be a good football player, you have to be a self-disciplined kind of guy. If you're self-disciplined, you wake up and do the right things. You go watch film and stay out of trouble off the field. You motivate your teammates and lead by example." -- David Scott

I played with Tony when he was just a little kid in walkersville and he was running to practice when we we're getting rides! He is amazing and Carolina should be happy to have someone of his caliber! Good luck Tony!

Self disciplined, hard nosed, character guys like this make a team better. Especially unselfish fullbacks - that's why we care...
