Vincent likes new backs

Panthers guard Keydrick Vincent says he's mighty impressed with three rookie running backs -- fourth-round pick Mike Goodson and undrafted free agents Jamal Lee and Markus Manson --  vying to serve as backups behind DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart next season.

Vincent said he's impressed with the talent of all three backs and that each of them have been hitting holes nicely during summer school sessions.

"They brought in some thoroughbreds," he said of the front office. "They're still in shorts (and not pads), but they're hitting everything. It's going to make my job a little easier."

Hopefully we can use there talent in someway. I don't think they will really be seeing much time at RB. Maybe we can run an occasional play with them at slot.

What? No Nick Goings?! I'm so disappointed....that it took so long to get rid of him! Glad to have some talent back there now, Ground & Pound or whatever they want to go by is dominant but it'd be nice to have a Sproles or someone super quick back there.

mike goodson is going to be a stud

im feeling real good about this offense, especially if they put goodson in the slot and have him returning kicks.they really need some vets at def tackle and a vet at the corner in case marshall and martin arent getting it done.after cuts in september we should be able to get some depth at those positions.

Goodson is a talent no question...potentially a huge bigplay-asset to the team...but the ? really is can he hold it together...focus and discipline wise---if so look out he has the Devin Hester gamebreaker tools!

Martin is currently slated to be the dime back.

If Goodson is as good as projected, he'd be real nice in the offensive sets. As long as he has SOME Impact. I'd like to see him in a slot reverse, with an occasional fake to him and go up top to S. Smith Deep on a stop and go route.

I am actually kind of saddened that we likely won't be able to hang on to all these promising skill guys. I don't recall us ever having so many promising skill guys on the roster at once, but, well, just look at the RBs and WRs, and notice that there is a ton of potential but not enough slots for it all. We've of course got locks in Smith and Moose at WR and WIlliams and Stewart at RB, but then we have a whole bunch of promise in: J. Carter, D. Jarrett, R. Robinson, M. Goodson, Birmingham, J. Lee, M. Manson and now even Larry Beavers is not someone to ignore. I wish we could keep them all, but we can't. I hope Hurney knows which ones to let go and none of them end up being studs for other teams.

Can you say "Play Makers"... Henning took our offense and revived it at the Dolphins. Now being looked at the first coach to establish or run the Wild Cat offense which is wrong. The Carolina Football Panthers did. Ala DWill, part of the reason drafting him out of college being college all time all-purpose yards leader with 7,573 and 34, 100-yard rushing games. We did and prove it the game Williams helped us beat the Falcons with the wild cat when Weinke only threw for like 7 yards that game. Goodson will be used and will be used effective. Out the back field, especially receiving, and returning. The key will be how well we use him along with other players as Robinson, Beavers. Jarrett will be big for us. They will be worked in their like a Welker type. We have STAR POWER ladies and gentlemen. Panther Fans. Give it up for the scouting team. They have done a tremendous job over the past 3 years. JStew I feel is the main one involved here. He has much to prove with being consistent. I think our back field was last year and is this year and years to come are the best. Defense took a right turn at the right time. Special Teams will finally be special this upcoming year. Its all coming together and will. Super Bowl Champs 2010. Miami, FL. God Bless!
