Brown, Panthers agree to 4-year deal

Everettebrown200p Defensive end Everette Brown (at right), the Panthers' top pick in last spring's NFL draft, has agreed to a four-year deal with the team worth $4.3 million, with $2.6875 million in guarantees.

Brown, an All-ACC player out of Florida State, was taken by the Panthers with the 43rd pick in the second round,

The Panthers' other second-rounder -- cornerback Sherrod Martin -- and third-round defensive tackle Corvey Irvin are the team's last two draft choices who have yet to sign. -- David Scott

Yes Finally some more good news. Everette Brown signs. And will not be a holdout. Martin and Irvin are next.

I thought Irvin was a defensive tackle ?

Would be nice if they set up a rule that all 1st round picks can't make more then 1.5 million a year for the first 4 to 5 years. That'll leave a lot of monetary space for the veterans who have proven their worth.

"Huh?" it says that Irvin is a defensive tackle.

Hopefully we can definitely get Martin signed, he would help out the secondary a lot.

Great to have our top pick sign before training camp

Rookie Fans,,geeze ,, Draft picks very rarely sign weeks before summer camp.. This is right on schedule...!! Marty Hurney, always has the majority of the draft picks signed by Camp. So how about sitting back and waiting for the season to start.. Preseason doesn't mean Jack, either.. Go Panthers...!!!

T - the average length of an NFL career is 3-4 years, so the players union won't agree to such a small cap on young player salaries.

Seriously, you could not get a better picture of Brown? Poor guy looks like he's on something.

Glad we've got him though!

he looks a lot younger than he is...

I know when people have nothing better to do when we're writing about the guy's picture.

I am siding against Vick right now. The Panthers are still a little optimistic on Matt Moore or Hunter Caldwell to develop into a capable backup. Vick just doesnt have the accuracy or field awareness to be the Panthers starting QB. I know Jake makes a lot of mistakes, but our offense has gotten better (better O-line, dynamic ground game, top3 receiver and Moose, and another year with OC Jeff Davidson. Remember, Jake lost the playoff game but our Offense was much better than our D last year)

i'd love it if we signed vick.
