Irvin deal done, one remaining

The Carolina Panthers have only one draft pick remaining with whom to negotiate a contract prior to training camp opening on Sunday.

Third-round pick Corvey Irvin has agreed to terms. His agent, Pat Dye Jr., said in an e-mail that the contract should be signed today. Dye said it's a four-year deal, but provided no other specifics.

Now, the Panthers have only second-round pick Sherrod Martin, a cornerback, left to sign.

I would like to Mr Hurney and the draft picks for your willingness to work together and get a contract in place well before camp. It speaks alot about the kind of players we are getting and the commitment we are showing from management. Keep up the good work.

Agreed. The front office has always shown a knack for getting deals done and managing the cap. Congrats Irvin and Go Cats!

Actually positive comments so far!

They have always been good about signing their draft picks beore camp, Beason is the only one in recent memory I can think of that missed some of training camp.

I wonder what we have left in cap space?

Have any roster moves been made in order to make room for the recently signed draft picks?

The Panthers organization is filled with class acts. The only malcontents I can think of in recent memory are Kris Jenkins and Julius Peppers, and even they were handled with class and distinction. Even if I moved, I can't imagine cheering for another team.

I am equally impressed by no negative comments so far! Yes, the front office is doing well and yes it does say something about our new players.

Good job front office. Very good job of getting the guys signed and ready to go. Now, lets get the last one signed, and hope that these guys can make a difference because they are honestly the only real changes to our team. Go Panthers!!!!
