« Long-snapper decision made? | Main | Richardson at camp »

Observations from Fan Fest

-- Players like DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, Julius Peppers, Muhsin Muhammad and Steve Smith didn't play in the scrimmage portion of the practice. They're not taking any chances on injuries, but fans didn't get much of a chance to see the big stars.

-- QB Jake Delhomme was in for two series, but couldn't get the first-team offense to pick up a first down. Of course, he didn't have some of the guys mentioned above in there with him.

-- Jon Beason is still not practicing because of his sore hamstring. But he's obviously getting close to getting back. He ran with the team during warmups and looked good in agility drills (while the scrimmage was going on).

-- Beason, LB Thomas Davis (knee), G C.J.Davis (ankle) and S Nate Salley (knee) didn't practice.,

-- New long-snapper J.J. Jansen looked good snapping the ball on John Kasay's 42-yard field goal, the only scoring of the day.

-- Attendance was listed at 15,549, filling up much of the lower bowl. A nice turnout on a really hot day. -- David Scott

Training camp started just to late for this "Fan Fest" to have much meaning.

I wondered why it ended so early. We got there at noon and after only a few minutes (it seemed) the practice was over. Oh well, not complaining. My boys still had a good time and I may have gotten them hooked on football. (They are 4 and 2)

GO PANTHERS!!!!

It ended early as Peppers does not work but cetain amount of time. Once the bell tolls, he is off the clock.

I cannot wait for the season to begin. We have so many talented players on this team. I only wish that many "so called" fans would limit their negative comments. I enjoy all sports and have all my life so I understand the meaning of "TEAM". When you show dissatisfaction with one player, you are hurting the team. Not my style. Do what you do best Panthers. Win games and dominate both sides of the ball. Let's win the big one for the incredible Mr. Richardson.

Give it up rs...no need to bash our players at this point in the season. The offseason is over, last season is history, and the present & future of Panther football is what we have. Let's hope it's another great season. Guess you'll be one of those "fans" I can buy a $20 seat off of when it's the 8th home game of the season, we're undefeated at home, and you still think Pep takes off half the plays and Jake sucks so you refuse to go to the game. Good, I'll take your ticket.................

I went to training camp on Wednesday. Our Panthers look good. Delhomme has some zip on the ball and is very accurate. Smith made some outstanding catches. Everyone all around looks really good. I think another 12-4 season in the making. Go Panthers!

Hey watchdoggin...go away you troll. And just what team to you root for? Falcons? Saints? Some other crap club with no legitimate shot at the Super Bowl? Good luck to your team(s) because if they play the Panthers they're going to need it.

For once I would love for people like rs to just shut their mouth, the more they open it the more they sound like idiots!

Observer, can you please figure out why the Carolina Panthers are feuding with Ticketmaster? The NFL Ticket Exchange works for other NFL teams but is now shut down for the Panthers. This is insane! The Panthers need to explain why this is happening. Otherwise, all the business goes to Stubhub, pronto.

I was very disappointed with the media!! This is "FAN" fest, not "media" fest. The media should be there for pictures and videos, but not to interrupt the players for interviews during autograph time! There are fans in the stadium who will only get one shot at an autograph. This event is free, so people who can't afford to or are not priviledged enough to get to see a game may be in attendance. Let them have a fair shot at getting autographs!! MEDIA, YOU CAN GET YOUR INTERVIEWS AT ANOTHER TIME!!!!!!

"Jake Delhomme was in for two series, but couldn't get the first-team offense to pick up a first down---"

"GOTTA-WANNA-HAVA-WANNA-SOMETHING-SOMETHING..." Whatever dude! Just act like you care and give your new position coach 2000% already!! And BTW, shut your whining everytime a WR doesn't somehow manage to ambush one of your wild ducks!!! Thanks.
