Panthers sign DT Hypolite
With starting defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu out with a torn Achilles tendon, the Panthers added DT George Hypolite to their roster for training camp. Hypolite played in college at Colorado and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars before getting released. Add him to the list of inexperienced DTs trying to find a spot on the roster.
As coach John Fox alluded to earlier today, the Panthers might go through a few DTs before finding one who sticks on the roster.

Isn't Ryan Sims available? What is his story (other than not very stellar performances)? I'm a sucker for a local product and I would think he would play with more alacrity after being passed over this offseason, especially playing in Carolina!

Ryan Sims plays for the Bucs. Not available.

Some interesting free agents still unsigned according to NFL website. These include former Panthers Gibson and Darwin Walker. Plus Vonnie Holiday and Ebenezer Ekuban, both former Tar Heels who have had successful NFL careers already. Very interesting.
