First Quarter Summary: Scoreless

There were encouraging signs for the Panthers' defense in the first quarter, especially two key third-down stops, an area in which the defense struggled last week against Atlanta.

However, Carolina's run defense is having difficulty again. The Cowboys' offensive line is opening huge holes up the middle

Dallas lost a chance to score when Nick Folk missed a 40-yard field goal attempt.
