Halftime Update: Panthers lead 7-0

The Panthers, trying to avoid an 0-3 start to their season, struck with an impressive late scoring drive to avoid a scoreless first half and take a 7-0 halftime lead over Dallas.

With no score in the game, the Panthers took over on their 10-yard line with two minutes, 48 seconds remaining in the half and drove 90 yards in eight plays for a touchdown.

The touchdown came on a 25-yard pass from quarterback Jake Delhomme to tight end Dante Rosario with 1:03 remaining in the half. It followed a pass play of the same length from Delhomme to Rosario.

Delhomme was 6-of-7 passing on the drive for 87 yards.

His impressive play followed an earlier interception by Cowboys cornerback in the second quarter on a deep pass to Muhsin Muhammad.

Dallas drove to midfield after the Panthers' touchdown, but couldn't score and had to punt.

The Panthers' defense had two unnecessary roughness penalties in the quarter, against safety Charles Godfrey and middle linebacker Jon Beason, but still kept the Cowboys off the scoreboard.

Decent play at best, but Defense is going really well. Now, It's time for Jake and co to step it up a lil more. I say they should try with a hurry up offense a lil more often.

Peppers, Johnson and Brayton need to put a LIL more pressure. Pep gets us 2 sacls would ya haha!

The Panthers can't tackle worth Crap. And why in the hell are you trying to go conservative with a 4 point lead!!!!!!! I am ashamed of the gutlessness of this team. The Braintrust accepts mediocrity to readily. We ar ein for another monday of Fox quotes, "well yaeh we have lots to improve upon. I have come to a conclusion that last year was a mirage because of a cupcake schedule. Call us fans Mr. Richardson when you actually want to win!!!!!!!!!!!

Captain Munnerlyn has become this years Ken Lucas. Please teach this kid how to tackle. On another note why in the @#$% is Richard Marshall can't do his job either?
