#Panthers DT Leonard breaks ankle
Panthers defense tackle Louis Leonard broke his left ankle in Carolina's 28-20 loss Sunday at Atlanta. Coach John Fox didn't say how long Leonard will be out, or how soon the Panthers will bring in a player to replace him. But it certainly will be soon.
It's another blow to a Panthers defensive line that's already lost Maake Kemoeatu (Achilles) for the season. Nick Hayden missed the Falcons game with a toe injury. Damione Lewis and Sunny Harris are the only healthy defensive tackle on the roster now. -- David Scott

Not good, running out of 2010 draft picks to trade. Are we down to 5 now?

This season is destined to be one of bad luck and epic failure! Maybe this will get Fox fired and Cowher in here!?! Leonard was doing decent for us. He had one sack just like Peppers........only 1/16th of the cost, though!

Way to be positive everyone. You Debbie-Downers are killing me! They still have plenty of picks in 2011 to trade anyway... That was a joke. This is a sport, for fun, yet everyone is so negative all the time. Lighten up and ENJOY the 14 games left.

It's only been 2 games. The season isn't over yet. "You play the game to win"

I think all you idiots who are begging for Cowher to be in here need to get over it...Why dont you pull for the team you have here instead of being a DA...This season isnt over and one guy who has been retired for a 4 years isnt gonna come in here and do anything different...We have a good staff and players already in place...2 games in the scheme of things...we can go into Big D next week and win...if you dont think so....DONT WATCH OR PULL FOR THE PANTHERS HATERS!!!

I sports writer wrote in his blog that the panthers should go after Anthony Montgomery of the redskins, he's a 2 year starter.

The defense has been a shambles so far. The $16,000,000 man has been a non-factor. Was it really worth to re-sign him to that ridiculous price, especially since he has again refused the contract they were trying to get him to sign. He still has not shown a desire to play here again next year. Does that mean that the Cats are going to slap the tag on him again and spend almost $20,000,000????? How many good players could we have signed if Mr. $16,000,000 left?????
No pressure on Ryan the entire game by the defense, and receivers open all over the field.

You know to me are secondary is atrocious...Leaf just sliced and diced us like he was the head chef at the local Japanese steak house...We need to run some draws and throw a few screens to Double Trouble...Dante is a beast...We need to run some 2 Tight End sets and utilize Dante and Jeff...

might as well play a 3-4 like cowher will next season

All Cowher did was be John Fox until he drafted a franchise qaurterback. He tried to plug that hole for years with the likes of Maddox, Stewart, ODonnell, Batch, and St. Pierre. He led the team to many playoff games, where they lost. Until they got Big Ben, he wasted so much talent. Just because Peppers makes 16mil, doesnt make him super man. Good teams roll the pocket and counter good rushers with quick drops and passes, which is what Atlanta did? They also ran away from Peppers on most of there running plays. They are not on the Falcons board saying where was Abraham yesterday. He was invisible the whole game. He only has to rush the passer and not play the run at all. So I dont want to hear about him not making as much as Peppers. I understand venting, but I thought you people knew a little bit about football.

It's time to let Julius go...I've been checking him out...His energy and level of intensity is way done...Look at the new kid from Florida State...Look at how he plays with a passion...That use to be Julius...It just like a relationship with your significant other...If they don't want to stay...You can make them stay...And if you do...You wish you would have let them go...Because you will only be getting a small portion if any of what you use to have.

All you idiots who say for me to shut up and support the team can KMA. I pay for my tickets, I can do as I please. The facts are there, this team is a joke. The management is the #1 problem. Until the house is cleaned, this team will never sniff another playoff win. BANK THAT

Bill Cowher is NO THE COACH for this franchise. It took him 14 years to put together a championship team in Northern West Virginia.

It's the curse of Kris Jenkins. It's not even that he went on to terrorize the league as a Jet, but since he left, we haven't really given the DT position any attention. Lewis was a pleasant surprise (he was starting to earn the "1st round bust" label in St. Louis before we picked him up), and Kemoeatu was little more than a space eater that required 2 blockers to keep him out of the backfield...not that there was anything wrong with that.
Well, Maake is out, and Lewis is still "pleasantly surprising" us. Now our shiny new DT blew a tire. Meanwhile, Peppers and whomever they stuck at the other end of the line had very pedestrian numbers against Atlanta, which isn't doing any favors for our injury report...err, I mean, DT roster.
I do not envy Ron Meeks and Brian Baker.
