#Panthers' Harris doubtful; Otah probable

Panthers strong safety Chris Harris missed another practice Friday because of a sore knee and has been listed as doubtful for Sunday's game at Atlanta. If Harris doesn't play, Quinton Teal (Coastal Carolina) would likely start in his place.

Defensive tackle Nick Hayden (toe) practiced on a limited basis and is questionable. Watch for Louis Leonard to get his first start as a Panther in Hayden's place.

Listed as probable were defensive ends Charles Johnson (knee) and Everette Brown (ankle), offensive tackle Jeff Otah (shoulder), defensive back Sherrod Martin (knee) and running back Jonathan Stewart (Achilles). They all practiced Friday. -- David Scott; On Twitter: @davidscott14

boo hoo my knee is sore I can't go this week coach. let me just play my trumpet on the sideline. give me a break

It seemed like Teal didn't really play that bad last week. The LB's look pretty good, too. It's just hard to keep the opponent off the board when they are starting in the red zone.

HAHAHAHA... Harris has been a big hitter, and u would think he would be flourishing in this defense that he knows from his Chicago days but we will see when he gets healthy...he's gonna need to force a lot of fumbles.

nothing else matters as long as jake stinks it up. if feely has to play fox is finished.

Its time for Matty Moore.
Moore is very capable to administrate the game with short and fast passes to WRs and TEs.
Run run run and run with DeAngelo, Stewart and Goodson (probably Fox use Sutton in some plays).
Jake's days as a panther ends last week.

Defensivelly:
We need more Blitz!!
Agressive Defense please!

GO PANTHERS
GIVE THE BALL TO MATT MOORE!!

i think i jinxed harris....once i saw meeks was coming here i said harris is about to become a bigger stronger and more DURABLE bob sanders and make some pro bowls....oh and i bet if you called chris a wuss in real life he'd toss you into the nose bleeds

A lot of people have been rallying for Matt Moore to start. I for one agree, considering that he started 3 games and won 2 of them and they were all against playoff teams in 07. Just a thought, though logic like this doesn't seem to resonate with the soon-to-be jobless Hurney and Fox.

Gree-Pants Fowler is at it again. "Bring in Cowher." Happy times for "Couldn't Be" Fowler! There are plenty of other coaches right now to choose from versus a coach who took a decade to win a superbowl (even though he probably the best defense in the NFL the entire time) and then walked away from the team the day after?!? And now he puts himself on a pedastal and is trying to dictate where he goes nex??? What a chump! ---and what #%$& are those that are doing his dirty work for him!!!

BOTTOM LINE THOUGH: Give Fox a ton of credit for accomplishing what he has with what he has had to work with (no cap the entire time, biased choosing and treatment of players, fan base with low character that boos its own team all the time), meanwhile taking it in the chin with nothing but the utmost integrity! Some of you wouldn't know a good thing from "Universal" healthcare!!!

matt, you are an idiot. Chris Harris is an absolute beast! Just ask all of the players his hits have knocked out of games.

Jeff Garcia is a KNOWN Bi-Sexual,thats why Carolina wouldnt sign him. It's against Jerry Richardson's values for a man ,when the man enjoy's being Sodomised.

Let it go.

and Tal didnt do bad,but Harris needs to play in a division game.

Posted by: GhostOfSparta | Sep 18, 2009 4:47:01 PM

Teal,Tal still hasnt impressed me I guess.

Posted by: GhostOfSparta | Sep 18, 2009 4:47:24 PM

Since when is a knee injury not a legit reason not to go? Matt Moore couldn't win the #2 job in the offseason but he's our savior now? Garcia wasn't signed because he's bisexual (!)? And what the hell are you talking about healthcare for?

Man, the crazies are out BIG time on a Friday afternoon!!

Bbuuuuurrrrr!

Posted by: Stanley Nwador | Sep 18, 2009 5:37:43 PM

if you know fox's style as a coach you'll have your reason why moore couldn't win the #2 spot, he never had a chance

Seriously, whats wrong with you people? Harris is a monster! I know these are Falcons pretending to be Panther fans. Harris would and has torn you up. Be thankful you dirty-birds that he cant play. Garcia is a problem wherever he goes. And Fox's job is on the line because of the players he put on the field during the off-season which is ensuring a pathetic record for us this year. I thought this would happen last year, but didn't account for the weak schedule and the fact that Fox was lucky that Jake came out throwing after that Tommy John Surgery. He had no reasonable backup for him this year or last. Had Jake played bad last year, I am sure we would not have made the playoffs. I agree, who cares about Cowher? I want somebody who is going to win, for sure. Or at least not make basic mistakes like the last 2 coaches.

Harris is just a big hitter & he hasnt even been doing that good lately. Theres a reason Chicago released him & now Im starting to see why. We need cover safeties & Teal seems more fit for int turnovers instead of forced fumble turnovers which Harris did provide for awhile. Leonard should be starting anyway, Otah always is going to have injury issues & thats not a good sign that Brown especially & Johnson have injury problems already.

you haven't even seen harris play in this defense yet idiot...why are carolinians so ignorant when it comes to football....

Posted by: rjkilla | Sep 19, 2009 4:03:00 PM

Jake is still one of the top 5 QB's in the league. Get real people, it is just one bad game - not his fault at all.

Posted by: Michael Procton | Sep 19, 2009 4:21:26 PM

The Panthers need to have more short fast pass plays, pick up 4 to 5 yards at a time, they dont have to go deep every play they pass, they need short fast passes to prevent the blitzing. Run & short passes are the way to go.
